How to unlock the The Quick and the Dead achievement in The Evil Within - Definitive Guide
One Thing i would suggest is to beat the game on nightmare first in order to unlock the Brass Knuckles. What the Brass knuckles will do is one hit every normal sized haunted enemy with one swing of the fist. (And two hits for the larger Haunted enemy's) The only thing it won't one hit are the boss, but on the bright side you will have save up a tone of ammunition which will make the boss fights go by super fast without having to scramble together any ammunition and thus saving up a lot of time for your speed run. Also the most important and greatest thing is when you start up a New Game Plus file over the existing save you used to beat the game on nightmare you'll be able to change the difficulty to Casual to speed things even further and then just follow the guide and tips that Priit3 posted and you'll have no problem what so ever in fact you'll even be almost 30 minutes/1 hour ahead of his guide.
Hope this Helps :lol

Better to just finish the game on AKUMA if you also want this achievement. Playing on Nightmare is literally pointless as the difficulties stack, so save yourself a playthrough.

Not much to this Trophy, Other then it's best to do this on NG+ since you can skip every CS. and you get (Clear) bonus items that help - and you will have left over ammo from 1st Playthru to let you Zip thru the chapters.
you need to aim to clear EVERY Chapter in under 20 mins. with skipping CS and not wondering around, you can clear CH 1~5 in 1 hour. I managed to do CH 1 in 13 mins, 2 in 12 mins 3 in 13 mins Ect.
Chapter 6 7 and 10 will be the time sinks They are the ones with the most "non Skip able" Clips.
6 an 7 took around 40 mins - I can't Recall witch one of these two were the longer one, w/e has you going to the *Curch* with about 3 boss fights will be it.
chapter 10, Sprinting thru / past everything, and Killing the 2 bosses with in this chapter took me just shy of 40 mins)-
Currently on Ch11, and just barely 3 hours of play time in.
Another thing to note. is Deaths, The Fewer the deaths, The More time is shaved off your "tottal" I did a run in 7.5 hours (Forgot were to go in CH2, and saw a Extra CS for a Troph - with 20 deaths, it took 1 . 5 hours off my time as well as avoide going to the "hospital" were you get your upgrades, unless it's story related, can easly spend a hour there thru out the game, unintentionally
You Will most likely Lose 1~4 Lifes to the "Lock box" near the end of the catacombs, - that just seems random you can go 1//1 or 1/4

Not to difficult there is a lot of leeway especially if you play on casual with upgrades.

I recommend that you play the game on the lowest difficulty setting of a New Game+ game mode. Starting on New Game+ after completing Survival Difficulty will give you a Rocket Launcher and a Machine Gun. This will make boss fights a lot quicker throughout your speed run, not to mention having upgraded weapons and sprint. Attempt to run each chapter through once and then reload your save at the beginning of that chapter until you are satisfied with your overall time.
Tips:
*Note - Pausing the game does not increase the playtime in your run. Dying, watching cutscenes, or reloading a checkpoint does count towards your time. Whenever you want to backtrack, always choose to Load Game.
Tips:
- Avoid enemies that don't need to be killed.
- Group up enemies for explosive kills.
- Do not visit the save room unless the story forces you to.
- Upgrade sprint as soon as possible, followed by your weapons of choice, if not done so already.
- Save grenades for situations in which you are forced to kill a large group of enemies to progress.

Tough. You need to run the entire game simply, without being particularly distracted by enemies. Also, pump yourself up to the maximum to quickly take down those you need. If a lot of people died somewhere, then load a previous save so that your lost time is not counted
