How to unlock the Racing Champ! achievement in The Falconeer - Definitive Guide

There is 6 races but you only need 5 of them.

- Sark's hollow : Sark's hollow is located in the middle top part of the map and it's race is located in the islands to the east of it.
- Dunkle : Dunkle is located right above the east part of the maw and it's race is located in the islands to the west next to it.
- Imperial peak : Imperial peak is located right under the words imperial hold on your map and it's race is located right next to it.
- Mawbridge : Mawbridge is located right in the middle on the maw and it's race is in the maw to the east of it.
- Port Remit : Port Remit is located in the islands a bit lower of the word the mancer benefice on your map and it's race is located in the islands to the south of it.

If you want to see the time you need to beat for each race, land on the location I listed above and talk to the guy who sells falcon. I suggest that you start by the one on the Imperial peak because it is the bird with the best speed and agility. It cost 12000 shards. I also recommand to do this at the end of the game as your level will be higher and so the stats of your bird will be at their max.

The race in the bottom right for Port Remit I found did not count for me. I found this out because I could not buy a bird there. Did the race again and the achievement still did not pop. Went back to Port Remit and the achievement finally popped but I cannot buy a bird there. Didn’t want the bird anywayslaugh

That is weird. I've done only the 5 races listed and my achievement popped without problem.

I would add that the Port Remit is glitched. It was my second race and second bird unlocked. After my fifth race, I unlocked the Falcon Collector for buying them all. Read HawkeyeBarry20's comment, went to Port Remit and wasn't able to buy the bird that I have already bought. Did the race again and it unlocked.

It really wouldn't have killed them to add a "restart race" function to the menu, like every other game.

-Dunkle
- Sark's hollow
- Mawbridge
- Stargazer : Tall mountain start South-East of Stargazer "village"
- Imperial peak

This game would have been better without these races. They should have made a longer game without this race challenge garbage (seems like too many games these days have unnecessary challenges like this).

For this I was able to do all 5 races listed in chapter 1. You will need 7500 splinters total.

I did the dunkle race to buy the first bird which costs 3000 splinters, may not be necessary to switch birds but this worked for me. You could just repeat the seachantress side quest or do the side quests at cartohom nearby which gets you to explore the map to get the splinters and you can get a lot by doing these whilst making progress towards other exploration achievements at the same time.

I then got an imperial trade permit from the imperial embassy (near redmouth forge) for 500 splinters.

I then flew to Imperial Harbour and bought 2 benthic blue mutagens for 2000 splinters each - this put me up to speed 4. These are permanent mutagens until you switch birds. This is fast enough to beat the races once you get used to the bird's movements.

The location of the races are (in order of difficulty from least to most in my opinion):
Dunkle
Sark's Hollow
Mawbridge
Port remit (this has the best bird in the game)
Imperial Peak

You can find the races by looking for the yellow fire icons on the map near these locations, which look a bit like exclamation marks where the top part is a flame.

The races start where you can see a flame, then you have to follow the flame under or over the gates to get to the end. The races will tell you how long you have taken for each gate but will only tell you if you made the target time or didn't at the end.

It doesn't feel like the races are meant to be part of the game design at first but after a few tries you should get fairly used to it. Remember to dive to build boost and boost straight at every opportunity but don't try to boost and steer or you'll barrel roll. Steering takes priority.

Good luck.

Basically, you need to keep it within 30-45 seconds. Each race has a different requirement, which can only be viewed after completing or losing the race
