How to unlock the Ace achievement in The Golf Club 2019 - Definitive Guide

For a simple hole in one select “local match” - “change course” - “HB official” - and hit cn_RB until you are on page 5 (last page) and choose “Caramel Creek”. Now set the wind speed to None and set the round length to BACK 9. The first hole (10) will have an easy shot. Push in on the Right Stick and push cn_A to set it to practice shot. Adjust the shot with cn_Y and use all four until you get one in then hit the right stick again to take the shot for real. If you miss just leave the game and reset the wind and round length and try again! I did this on easy with beginner clubs in about 5 min. Hope this helps!!! As BoRN 2 KiiLL x has stated, if you miss you can pause and select “course details” then select “restart game” it keeps the wind setting for quicker restarts and puts you on hole 10 again.

good find on the hole. i down clubbed to 7 iron (i think) and decreased my loft to get more roll. It took my about 15 minutes.

As for lining up the shot, i ultimately aimed at the hole. I was fiddling with my aim but it turned out that i wasn't hitting the ball straight. My swing would still be perfect/perfect and inside the lines, but it wouldn't be straight. So i would hit the ball slightly left and compensate by aiming right. Then i would hit the straight and miss right.

So, learn from me and don't overthink it.

This solution is great. Just keep at it, 6 iron, easy clubs...it'll work over time! thanks for sharing!

Took me about 5 minutes. I used the 7 iron but changed the green speed to very slow. Just a matter of hitting it straight!

The pros have about a 1 in 2500 of making a hole in 1. I think it took me about 2500 attempts lol. I changed the pin to number 2 used a 7 iron with 3-4 clicks of low loft and just aimed straight and hoped I hit it straight.

When you've pressed Y and are looking at the target circle... use Right Trigger to zoom in before adjusting.. and gently tap right on the RIGHT stick. Slightest of touches.

I just used the default set up and shot, restarted, rinced/repeated. After about 10 min or so, I finally got the perfect swing and Aced the hole. You do not have to adjust anything, just hit a perfect shot and eventually you'll get it :)

Great solution btw! Thanks!

Just a quick addition to the guide as I was having much difficulty with the aforementioned strategies. After you've put no wind, set it to Pin 3 when you're setting the back nine and you just need to hit the 7 Iron they start you with head-on to get it in. Took me 15-20 minutes with 3 attempts that missed by inches after trying the earlier described methods for several hours

Great tips, guys! It took a few practices to get it right, but when I took my first real swing I got it!

Lord Skempe’s idea worked like a breeze. Got it within five minutes. Straight 7 iron on pin three to the hole and in.

Can confirm this achievement is glitchy. Just hit a hole in one twice now using your settings and no achievement.

It may be possible the developers have disabled getting this achievement with custom rules. I reached out to them for further guidance. But as of now, I’d say this achievement is either glitched or unobtainable on custom settings.

MaurickShepherd, were you still doing the practice swings, or did you turn off the practice mode and do a "real" swing? I don't think the practice swings count.

It was the actual swing. I recorded a photo of it w/ the name of the course and sent it to HB to look into maybe if custom settings void achievements but haven’t heard back yet.

I can confirm this still works with custom settings. Just got it from red tee to Pin 3 with 7 iron. After the restart dont touch anything, simply repeat until you get a perfect straight shot.
Thanks for the solution and the comments.

This unlocked for me about an hour after getting the ace at Caramel Creek, so you may need to be patient.

This worked perfectly! I tried to get cute by adjusting the green speed and softness but it did nothing. After about 10 attempts I got it on a perfect pullback followed by a perfect forward push that was SLIGHTLY to the right.

I tried adjusting the landing circle to BARELY go right but could never dial it in enough, it jumps around too drastically (unless I'm missing a fine tune tool somewhere).

Thanks for the solution!

If you miss pause go to course details then restart game saves you having to change any settings and attempt the shot quicker.

Drained the very first shot I took using this method. Took longer to change the course rules and parameters than to actually make the shot. Big +1 to you

This one took a bit, maybe 25 tries. When the above posters say the shot has to be perfect, they aren’t exaggerating. If the shot isn’t perfect, just start the restart process while the ball is in the air.

The guide is accurate and works as of 6/22/23.

I found TPC Southwind - Hole #11 to be the easiest and most consistent way to get this achievement. Make sure you're using Beginner Clubs (under Home -> Edit Golfer, but if you haven't changed your clubs then you already have this set). Then set up a local match as follows:

TPC Southwind - Back Nine
Red Tees
Wind - None

Just get through hole #10 and then club down to a Pitching Wedge for hole #11. Shot type should automatically be a pitch. Aim the slightest bit to the right, as little as possible, and just swing normally. I just repeated this 3 out of 4 attempts because the achievement wasn't popping, so I went ahead and finished the round and then the achievement popped, so if it doesn't pop right away for you, finish the round and it should pop then.

If you don't get the hole in one on #11, quit the match and start again. You'll have to choose Back Nine and No Wind again, but there's only one hole to play before attempting it again and the pitch shot is very consistent with rolling the ball up to the hole.

Perfect. Got it second time. I just tapped right on the d-pad once. Also, instead of quoting out and going through all the settings you can just pause/course details/restart. Much quicker and less setup. Thanks for the great solution.

Just got this on literally my first try. Good on you, man.
Maybe mention that you can do the shot preview 4 times first to be sure you're lined up right?

There is no way to get this apart from actually scoring a hole in one. Because you can not select one hole which is annoying you have to play either back or front 9's or the full 18.

Because of this I found an easy par 3 on the TPC at Boston Hole #3. Its a little left aim adjustment (for my swing at least) and a full swing pitching wedge, took me a few goes but with minor adjustments got it quick enough.

I would recommend swinging without any adjustments and make small changes from there it's pretty straight forward if you swing nice and straight, which is pretty easy on basic clubs (you can check this in your settings).

You want to
1) Select Custom Solo (not PGA tour), choose Boston course
2) play off red tees
3) be using 'basic clubs' to maximise consistency
4) adjust the wind in the course conditions to calm/none

Play out the first two holes and then good luck for the 3rd, if unsuccessful then hit the menu and quit the game, and restart (unfortunately you need to go in and turn the wind off again).

Good Luck Ace!
P.S. Hit me up if you need any further help!

On hole 16 at Deere you can set up no wind, white tees and "hole 1", and you will have a pitch 66 meters. Beginner clubs and you will have a club that goes 63. Just aim a tad to the right and pitch it in.
