Hole the ball from a bunker on an official course.

How to unlock the Golden Ferret achievement in The Golf Club 2019 - Definitive Guide

I found Monte Cervino - Hole #1 to be an easy and consistent way to get this achievement. Make sure you're using Beginner Clubs (under Home -> Edit Golfer, but if you haven't changed your clubs then you already have this set). Then set up a local match as follows:

Monte Cervino
Red Tees
Wind - None

Start off by changing to your Driver and just hit a regular full power shot without changing your aim. For your second shot you should automatically be assigned the Gap Wedge. Press cn_Y and adjust your aim to be the center of the bunker to the left of the green. Again hit a regular full power shot. The ball should land in the bunker and stick and give you a 60-70%ish lie. Press cn_X until your shot type changes to Chip, then change clubs to a 9 iron. Press cn_Y to aim and aim just a couple taps of cn_RS to the left, then hit a regular full power shot. If everything goes according to plan the ball will land on the green and roll right into the hole. If it doesn't go in, just quit and start another local match, change the wind to None, and try again, making any adjustments you may need depending on if the ball rolled left or right of the hole on your last attempt. Since it's the first hole you can be attempting it again within another minute or two. Only took me about 3 attempts to get one to go in.

Great solution! Just like to add that if you miss the shot, you will likely be just past the hole. On your next shot, you should be facing the same bunker you just shot from. Switch to a 'Flop' shot with your Pitching Wedge, send it back in the middle of the bunker, and try another shot! Personally, I got this with a Chip shot using the Sand Wedge with a few clicks to the left.

Save time through loading and set up. Chip the ball back in the bunker if you miss.
Just unlocked this by doing just that.

Amazing solution. Tried to get it through normal play and just couldn't. Got it using this on the second try. Instructions are spot on!

I don't have the game installed anymore but it probably just depends on whether you swing with the left stick or the right stick.

Thanks for the solution. It took me several attempts but having a good Hole 1 option made it a lot quicker.

I had to make a couple of changes on the fly because I am not good at this game. This course selection was perfect, and it is helpful to try and hit the ball back into the bunker if you miss in order to save some time.

I was finally able to get it using a chip shot with a gap wedge and 5 clicks to the left of the hole...good luck everyone!

I did everything listed above but will add I used pin location 1.

When in the bunker, I did 3 taps of the left d-pad arrow to aim. Full power swing and it screamed right into the hole.

a few more then 3 trys for me, lol. I actually got it quite a few times with a practice shot, but took me about 20 mins as kept missing when it was the real shot. from my lie and distance from the bunker to the cup I found a 8 iron chip and run was better as the 9 iron consistantly fell short.

Good find for the hole selection.

I would add that you use your practice swings.

i struggle for 15 minutes trying to get this because i couldn't consistently get the ball into the same spot in the bunker. When i finally remembered to use practice swings, it really helped to line up the shot. i found that with a short chip, the swing path (the graphic on the right that shows how straight you moved the right analog) wasn't as critical as the hole in the one shot.

Once, i tried this with practice shots, i got it on my second try.

The best advice for doing this is to play a course with shallow bunkers and to use a chip instead of a flop. There's no need to use the sandwedge, use a club that gets you to the hole just as long as it clears the edge. Before the shot, use LT and try to adjust aim. If the ball is above your feet, the ball will start to the left of where you aim and right if it's below.
