A quick tip to help speed things along:
Once you get matched with an opponent (1v1 Match Play for example), try to lose every hole by one or more strokes. Since it's match play, you can finish the match after 5 holes if you're playing a front/back 9 (5 DN & 4 to Play) or after 10 holes if you're playing 18 (10 DN & 8 to Play).
It doesn't help to play really poorly since the furthest player out will always be up next. You want to play each hole in to the green, get close to the hole, and miss short putts until your opponent makes and wins the hole.

I agree it's easier to lose the match and get the achievement then trying to win it and having the other person quit on you when they can't win.
