How to unlock the Ace achievement in The Golf Club - Definitive Guide
First hole on the Long Pond Par 3 Course. My secret is using the 8 iron, bring the shot sculptor up with the LT and moving the white line up to the top of the "A". Course never seems to have more than 1 or 2 MPH winds so not a lot of correction needed. If you miss the shot Restart. Took probably 30 swings to get it.

I had a 14mph wind straight east. Took me around 50 tries to get the aim down but with that wind, I aimed just to the right of the tall tree off the left side of the green. I used a 100% straight shot and used the shot sculptor to move the white line up to the top of the A - something like 90% distance. Popped Eagle achievement as well as I hadn't unlocked that yet.

I got this on the 1st hole of the official course Long Pond Par 3. There is no short cut way to do this, and it will involve a lot of trial and error, but with patience you should be fine.
First up, club selection and power. The 8 iron you are given is fine, but you need to take a bit of power off of it. The best way to do this is hold LT and move the white line up so it is in the middle of the two red lines. You then need to make sure you always hit the 8 iron at 100%, or you wont reach.
Next to aim you need to adjust for wind. Whilst this seems to vary every time you start, it always seems identical when you restart the course. So if you fail (which you will!), just hit start and restart the course.
The key i found was using the background to mark your aiming. I had a 5mph wind left to right, and used the trees behind the green to mark where aimed, and then from there adjusted my aim based on whether my ball was left or right of the pin.
What makes this bit tricky is that the way you swing will affect this. So if you swing dead straight and the ball ends up just left of the pin, but the next swing you put on it is a bit ropey and was right a bit, you will find your shot ends up in a different spot. So via trial and error you need to roughly find the right aiming location, based on the wind, and then make sure that your swing is consistent. Again, i found with constant repitition, I got there in the end.
Lastly, you want the ball to land about 1 yard to the left of the hole, for as it rolls up towards the pin, it will drift right a bit.
Good luck, and just keep going. It took me about 45 mins to get this, and god knows how many retries!!

The same hole as the others... hole 1 at the Long Pond Par 3 course.
So it appears the wind setting can change from player to player... in my case 11mph in the Northerly direction.
The 8 iron is too long... the 9 iron is still too long unless you modify your shot, hold the left trigger and (for me the top red line was listed as 86%) move it up just a few lines so it's less than halfway between the two red lines.
Aim wise there are two white trunked trees to the left of the hole to use when you line up, its not really the sort of shot to give a definite aim spot as this can be rendered pointless if you get any shape on the shot.
Essentially this set up should land the ball at the front of the green and bounce up and run onwards into the hole.
Took me maybe 15 attempts.

I got my lucky shot on The Equinox Club hole 1
Advices:
- Wind changes slowly over time, if +6 Mph better leave and try later
- Don't waste time trying to compensate for stronger winds
- If you can't get straight swings, try to swap pads or use a firmer controller
- Try use a rubber band to auto pull up the pad and get consistent swings

OFFICIAL COURSE is important to remember here, so no cheating! The best option for you will be Long Pond and the very first hole. Any par 3 hole in the game will work, but this one is straight and usually no winds. It's mostly luck based, but you will see over time how to regulate your shot for power and direction in order to nab this one. Take a swing, note the ball trajectory and placement... rinse and repeat until you get it.
