How to unlock the GIR Collector achievement in The Golf Club - Definitive Guide
Just like the FIR Collector achievement, the easiest way to get this is by playing on the Little Brook Manor course.
All you have to do is get your ball onto the green in regulation, meaning that you have at least two strokes remaining to hit par. Keep in mind that you must do this in a single playthrough of the 18 hole course
Example: Par 5 course requires you to get onto the green in 3 shots or less. Par 3 will require your first shot to get you onto the green.

Just to add to this, green fringe does not count.
I made a mess on my approach on 14 and landed in the fringe. Decided I would play to the end just to see if the achievement would pop but it never. Despite hitting all other GIR.

So say if it is a par 5 do I have to get it in the hole on my 3rd shot or just get it onto the green?

Since the description demands a "official 18-hole course" I strongly recommend to play on "Little Brook Manor" because it is the easiest of the official courses.
Green in Regulation means, you have to land on the green with 2 strokes under par, so that you are theoretically able to make the Birdie. For a Par-3 then of course you have to land on the green with your first stroke. The wind directions and strength are more or less almost the same for each hole. So you can work rough tactics for each hole in case you have to start over. Note: Landing on the edge of the green, the "fringe" still counts as hitting the green.
The most important factor is to get a good feeling where the ball will land including wind direction and strenght. The greens on this course are slow, so the ball will not roll very far. So, if you not sure preferably add a little more power then hitting too short and have the ball land before the green.
Also, It does not matter with how much strokes you finish a hole. So your first objective is to hit the green safely in regulation, NOT to get as close to the pin as possible. Keep that in mind.
