How to unlock the Lucky Number Seven achievement in The Golf Club - Definitive Guide

Not sure why the others made large courses, or ones with funnels.
I cant get a hang of the controls for this game, at least not yet. So I just made a 10 hole course that is completely flat with the hole 1yd away. Pick the 7 iron, pull back every so slightly on the right stick, then move forward neither quickly nor slowly, and the ball will go in. Worse case you miss by an inch, or overshoot a bit, and you have 6 more shots to get it right.

Just remember to switch to the 7 iron every time.

Search for the course named "Easy Lucky 7s"

The other 2 solutions take way too much effort. A massive +1 from me. Takes 5 minutes maximum.

Gave a 10 rating and a thumbs up. It took me a few tries but then it was an ace the last 5 holes. Thank you!

Fantastic solution! Should mention that it needs to be chip shots though around 15-20%. Can even hold LT and put the line all the way down to the bottom to keep it flat

Awesome, thanks! Used the chip shots as others have mentioned as I struggled on normal but less than 5 min using this solution and course! Cheers smile

I was in a hurry, so messed up a couple of shots: you can pause the game, declare an unplayable ball, and turn back to the previous point (losing a shot).

Thumbs up and rating 9!

Make it a chip shot too if your struggling with sensitivity, pull back slightly, then forward quickly. Even EASIER.

Switch to your 7 iron(club) hit x to change to chip shot! Must hit shot around 20%--- bring your joystick down a little bit and swing. Hole in one every time!

Just go to 'More' when selecting a course, filter for 'Public Courses' (using LB or RB), and hit the 'Y' button to edit your search. In the search field type "EASY Lucky Number 7". Here you will find a very simple, very hazard-free course, created by yours truly smile

The full name is actually 'EASY Lucky Number 7 achievement (TA LN7)', but, for some reason, searching by (TA LN7) doesn't work... Sorry , I tried to make it very easy to find.

Enjoy! Message me for help/advice or just to play! dance

Edit: Just be sure to choose a 7-iron EVERY time. You may need to adjust your type of shot from 'Normal' to 'Pitch' or 'Chip' etc., depending on your distance. 'Chip' is a must for "putting", I'd say...

P.S. As MAKA91 notes below, using 'punch' shots instead of 'normal' can gain you some extra yardage!

I don't believe so. I "putted" with the 7 iron. Just switch to "Chip" and take a very short backswing.

You have to use a 7 Iron for EVERY shot including the "putts". I made a 47 footer on one hole during play for this achievement.

Nice! Yeah, It's not too bad. The greens are huge and flat and can be reached in two or three most times (which leaves you 4-5 "putts", since I made them all par 7's wink)

Just another note you can add, I was able to get more distance on my drives using "PUNCH" instead of normal. 165+ yards instead of 155.

I was also playing against a friends replay who used "Normal", and I made it to green 1 drive before them usually, so its a good tactic.

First time I played through it didn't pop, but I was almost positive when I was rushing to switch to seven iron I must of went to a six iron or eight iron. I tried again this time confirming 7 iron before each shot and sure enough it unlocked. I recommend taking your time to ensure right club is picked. Thanks for the easy course and achievement!

Dude, great course and guide! I had a ton of fun with this, even though I had to restart once because I forgot to switch to a 7 iron. But, it popped after the round finishing with a 54! Also, make sure when “putting” with the 7 iron to switch to “chip” as that really helps. Be gentle!
Plus one for sure.

I was playing the course that SuperTigerWoods suggested and it works well, but I got super bored playing it and figured I could make something a bit better. If you search for "Easiest Lucky 7 Achievement" you'll find a 10 hole course with the requisite par 70. The course is designed to default to the 7 iron from the tee box and take a single shot to get you within a foot or so of the cup.(The greens are giant funnels.) I've tested all 10 holes with 4mph crosswinds and there plenty of give on most of the holes. (Watch hole 2, I wasn't paying attention and it's a little tight, but still pretty easy.)

If, after the tee shot, the ball doesn't get in the cup just switch back to the 7 iron and chip it in. In most cases a single low power tap with the 7 iron is enough to get it in. Sometimes it takes 2 shots.

I will warn you though. If you have trouble hitting straight shots at 100% power you're going to have a bad time.

To give you an idea of how quick this is though, I ran it in testing in 14, 16, 15, 16, 17 shots, and just got my achievement with a 17 shot round.

DO NOT USE PUTTERS. YOU CAN ONLY USE THE 7 IRON.

Why would you put the wind at 12mph?
0
0
By TheLastDon on 30 Aug 2014 13:47
You don't set the wind. If the wind it too high, try it again another time. Most of the time it was at 3 or 4mph for me.

The second hole was horrid lol, kept finding myself just shy of getting in the funnel and having to knock it back and try again!
Admittedly 10+ mph winds don't help

By dale smeegle on 06 Sep 2014 15:14
Don't recommend trying with a high windowed as some of the holes become extremely difficult especially those with winds going from hole to tee as they take too much speed off the all leaving you trying to heave it over the mounds

I actually unlocked the achievement with the first solution, but I thought I would give this a try for the fun in it. I have to agree with "dale smeegle". I had high winds on holes 2 and 4, aimed at the tee box. I struck the ball with 100% power and straight, but it fell just short of the funnel both holes. Holes with <10mph winds were no problem.

Couldn't get hole 2. Wind was always very high. Gave up and used "CTM,s" solution (had to use chip shot!!!!!).

Search for a course called lucky number 7. It is 18 holes, but each hole is no more than 2 feet from the tee. Just be sure to switch to your 7 iron and change the shot type to chip. 18 little taps and you'll have the trophy.

A ridiculous achievement, but you can get it easily by searching for a downloadable course geared towards it. There are several of them, with the words "Easy Lucky 7" or a variant of the achievement name in the course list. You then need to select your 7 iron club every time.
