How to unlock the Bringin' Home the Bacon achievement in The Good Life - Definitive Guide
If youre able to play the PC version, there is an exploit that can allow you to craft items without having the necessary resources available.
This method was found by Pikenshiro on the Steam discussion boards (link at the bottom of the solution if anyone is interested) so I can't take credit, but in using this method, I was able to unlock
The method:
This achievement is cumulative, so if you get bored of doing this and want to tackle any of the other achievements, such as the ones that require you to buy a ton of stuff, feel free to do so.
Also, keep in mind that the more small animal furs you have, the more nuggets you can buy in one trip, so grind for furs if you want the process to go faster. The hedgehogs and rats that are close to the main village respawn every 3 days to help boost them up.
This will work with any merchant with craftable supplies. You can also do this to create attires WITHOUT needing crafting supplies, cutting the grind significantly. I'll post a solution for that achievement there.
Note that although the method still works as of 11/01/21, this may be patched out in a future update, so get it while you can.
Lastly, here's the link to the original post I found the exploit on: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1452500/discussions/0/4809273...
Happy grinding.

The Bringin' Home the Bacon achievement in The Good Life worth 153 pointsEarned a total of £500,000.
and
The Fashionista achievement in The Good Life worth 633 pointsAcquired 48 different equippable items.
The method:
1. Make sure you have several small animal furs in your inventory and go to MacAvery's (patchwork fur is the quickest method).
2. Click on "buy materials".
3. Click on "patchwork fur".
3. When the shopkeep says "how many?", DO NOT CONFIRM PURCHASE. Scroll down to the gold nugget. Note that you may have to click the screen to activate the mouse.
4. When you have the yellow border around the gold nugget, hold right to select the max amount of nuggets. If done correctly, you should have been able to purchase nuggets equal to the amount of small animal furs you have. You can repeat this process in the menu several times.
5. Take a couple showers for max sell rate and sell the gold nuggets at the post office if you have high cat, or at the butcher if you have high dog (shoutout to Haclio for pointing this out).
6. Repeat until pop.
