How to unlock the Event Horizon achievement in The Good Life - Definitive Guide
You’ll have to play through a few other missions to get the Route A, B and C missions – I didn’t keep track but I was around 7 or 8 hours into the game (and I got sidetracked a bit). Edit: If you mainline the story missions, you can get to the Route missions in about an hour. You’ll unlock all 3 'Route' missions at once and once unlocked you can choose which order you want to do them.
Spoilers have been avoided to a degree but consider yourself warned.
An Unique Emblem
Go down to at Burley’s Farm. You can spot it on the map to the South of town if you’re not sure where it is. The Route A missions begin after the short scene.
Onward to the Grungy Old Castle
Leave the farm and take the path opposite, heading East. You’ll have to pay (£10) to open a gate but this will lead directly to the marked location. Approach the marked gate and interact with it for a scene.
Three Trials
Check the instructions on the screen then go get yourself a sheep! Change to a dog and approach a sheep (just next to the gate there should now be another open gate leading to a paddock with several sheep to choose from).
Go near one and press to bark. The yellow marker on the sheep will drop a little and the sheep will run away. Chase it and bark again, then repeat. When the sheep’s yellow bar drops enough it will be marked with a blue light, so walk close to it and press to tame it.
You will automatically get on it, so ride back to Samuel at the gate which will be marked.
After the short scene, you’ll unlock:
Next. you’ll need to smash the 3 barrels on the field ahead. Ride towards them and press to charge. The sheep has a power meter just like running, although you can only get 2 charges before needing to wait. Once all 3 barrels have been destroyed, another scene plays.
Now simply ride back to Burley’s Farm, which is marked. When you enter another scene plays out, then you can choose your sheep’s name.
From now on, I recommend you get in the habit of brushing you Shteed every day. Getting the Fluffiness rating up to max was the grindiest achievement for me.
Trials Complete
Go back to the road - Samuel should appear as you leave the farm.
Classical Cosplay
You can summon your sheep with . It’s much faster than walking so use it to get back to town. Head into Fluffy & Bunny and talk to Virginia. Choose ‘Need some clothes!’
To make the desired dress, you need:
2 x Wool Felt – You can either shear your sheep then wait a week until you can shear again, or just buy another one. Talk to Lonette Burley (the woman at the farm) and choose ‘Sheep Request’ > ‘Buy Sheep’. Pick a name and it will automatically be place in your pasture. You can shear new sheep right away.
2 x Gold Nuggets – Speak to McAvoy (the knight near your house). Tell him ‘I need some materials!’ You’ll need to exit the conversation and speak to him again, choosing ‘I’m here to shop!’ to buy yourself a Pickaxe.
Make your way up to the Blencarrick Quarry, towards the North-West. Around the grey rocky areas you’ll see white Pickaxe icons on the ground. Interact with them to mine some materials. Run around until you get the 2 Gold Nuggets required (this appears to be random…)
I recommend using the Shrine just to the South to warp home again.
1 x Liquid Vitae – Head to the Witches shop, found West of town beyond the church (it’s marked). Tell her ‘I’m here to shop!’ For Liquid Vitae, you need 1 x Butterfly Wing and 2 x Sage. These can be found at random but I think they may be marked – Butterfly Wings can certainly be found in the park to the South of town, near the guy playing violin.
Return to and purchase the Liquid Vitae once you’ve found the resources.
3 x Glass Beads –There is one in the bin beside 1977, which should be marked after you talk with McAvoy. It will replenish after a couple of days. When you approach, you should see a dog icon over the bin. Change to dog form and interact to collect whatever’s inside. You can check any other bin you come across too as you might get Glass Beads at random.
With all that collected (phew!) return to Virginia at Fluffy & Bunny and choose ‘Need some clothes!’ again. Scroll down to the Ruff Dress, which will cost around $225 in addition to the resources.
While you're here, you might want to buy a few DrinKING! items. There is a story-based drinking game coming up and it can be a bit tricky.
There is a wardrobe in the Fluff & Bunny side of the shop (marked Fitting Room) where you can change into the new dress. Do so, then exit and go back to Samuel at the marked location, which will be the gate you first met him at earlier.
Breaching the Lake
With the key you were given in the cutscene, interact with the gate to open it and get to some sheep-racing. Get to the next gate – I guess you could walk but you really should ride your sheep. A scene plays out as you approach. Choose to ‘Undergo the trial’.
A Knight’s Trials
You’ll automatically start a race. The timing is pretty generous. Only use your boost when you need to smash through some barrels and avoid the other obstacles. Reach the end in time to succeed.
Now you’ll repeat this twice more – ride to the next gate at the marker and complete another race. The second introduces coffin obstacles that appear out of the ground and the third is a combination of everything.
All you need to do is finish in time, so none of these races should pose much of a problem.
The Tale of the Bloodwoodes
Ride to the next marker, outside the castle for another scene when you arrive. Then approach McAvoy and choose…
Approach the drawbridge ahead and skip through the scenes/conversations.
Faster than Light…
Turn around and go to the marker behind you. The Legendary sheep will be near the road. Tame it just like before (bark at it until the yellow bar depletes). It’s just like last time, it just takes longer…
Ride it back to the castle which starts another scene.
A Tale of Yore
Proceed forward when you (more scenes and conversations). Speak with the 3 marked people and eventually you’ll end up in another race. You just need to finish in time, like before.
Carry Those Barrels!
You’ll wind up in the cellar.
This is an optional spot to go for the [rul= At Heart[/url] achievement - see that achievement's solution for details.
Grab three of the labelled barrels and carry them to the marked spot behind Samuel. Be wary of the light wall - dying here will reset the barrels and you'll have to start again.
The Lord of Booze: The DrinKING!
'Ere we go! The Vicar will arrive and you’re forced into a drinking game with him (at least there are only 3 rounds!). Try to tap to maintain your position and immediately switch directions when you see the bar tilt. Otherwise, it's just a case of practice and skill. Pressing to use a DrinKING! item will extend the bar a little. You can see how many DrinKING!'s you have in the bottom-right corner.
Event Horizon: Epilogue
Afterwards, you'll be back at home. Simply find and talk to Lonette Burley and Douglas McAvoy who are both marked. As soon as you start the second conversation, you will unlock this achievement.

After you do some main quests you will get to a point where you get 3 main quests - at the same time.
If you start the first one An Antique Emblem and do all the quests that follow that one you will eventually get this achievement.
You will also get Mount Thy Shteed! somewhere in the middle of the A Route story.
