Taking photographs is fairly integral to the game. Hold 
to frame and 
to take the photo.
I had less than 400 photographs by the time I'd finished the story, so you'll need to take random photos to get the 1000 required for this achievement.
You can just take the same photo over and over, however your camera has a storage limit. It can only hold 64 photos. To view and delete stored pics, press
. Press 
to select the pic, 
to delete and to confirm. Alternatively, uploading pics to Flamingo will remove them from your camera.
Progress can be seen on the Achievement Tracker.

I was at 95% and it quit counting there.

I was at 38% after the hotword achievement and main game. It took about 24 minutes (I was distracted too) just deleting all 64 pictures and taking 64. Not bad once you get the rhythm down. I just watched a show.
