How to unlock the Woman VS Mountain achievement in The Good Life - Definitive Guide

This is the first half of my solution for the Route B mission. You can see the rest of the solution here. You'll unlock this achievement around 1/3rd of the way through the mission.
This was the last ‘Route’ mission I did and I found it the most annoying. Hopefully the guide helps!

You’ll have to play through a few other missions to get the Route A, B and C missions – I didn’t keep track but I was around 7 or 8 hours into the game (and I got sidetracked a bit). Edit: If you mainline the story missions, you can get to the Route missions in about an hour. You’ll unlock all 3 'Route' missions at once and once unlocked you can choose which order you want to do them.

Spoilers have been avoided to a degree but consider yourself warned.

The Blind Veteran
The marker will guide you to Horatio Stringer, where-ever he happens to be. Talk to him to start the Route B missions.

Master and Student, at Odds
Head to the marker, which will be just to the South of town. Talk to Henry Poe who is playing the violin by a tree.

I don’t think it matters but you’ll have to answer a question about his reply, which will be a set of notes – consider taking a picture or screenshot. Now return to Horatio Stringer who was playing in the town plaza for me.

I didn’t record Poe’s notey reply and just chose the top response. Stringer sent me to the clinic.

You’ll no learn how to mark as a dog. Transform into a dog and look towards the Cameramart. You’ll see a yellow paw outline. Walk over to it and an option will appear to press cn_A to Mark. Do so, then press cn_A again when the slider is over the blue section, there is a slight delay.

The path to the clinic goes via the top path to the West (towards the church) then through a yard and back around to approach the clinic from the West. Mark all 8 spots along the way.

A few scenes will end this part of the mission.

To the North!
Make your way up to the top of the map, where the marker will be up in the Snowy Mountains.

Activate the Shrine and proceed a little. David O’Reilly will intervene and the most annoying character in video game history will also appear…

To 1977!
Make your way back to town and talk to Michelle in 1977. The drink you require, ‘Whiskey with Hot Coffee’ will be available after the conversation. Buy one and you’ll get another fetch-quest.

Find the High-Tech Thingy!
So, things may get a little spoilery here! Each of Clay and Charlotte Macauley will eventually have a marker on the map, so they shouldn’t be too hard to find, but they only appear on specific days. You’ll only ever see one of them at a time.

Best bet is to just sleep to pass the time and wait until a marker appears. Talk to each in turn when you can. Fortunately, once you speak to both of them and get their photos, your destination will be marked towards the North of town. As you approach the lake, another scene plays out and you learn about Digging Points as a dog.

Head to the South side of the lake. Up the hill by some rocks you’ll see a spot to mark. Once you’ve done that, a Digging Point will be revealed just a touch to the South.

Dig there to find the high-tech thingy.

Go back to the 1977 and talk with Michelle again to fill the thermos and proceed.

To the Northern Mountains!
Get back to the Snowy Mountains Entrance Shrine and talk to David O’Reilly nearby. This achievement will unlock.
