I did as many side quests as possible during the campaign (on Normal) and I barely got to 75% on this. You will either have to get the rest in Scenarios, or play a second campaign.
For those going for the Hardcore|Hard|Heroic|Fearless cheevos this will not be a problem (assuming you're not doing a single playthru on Fearless Hardcore

Very simple, just slay the 10000.

This achievement counts all modes for a single character. You'll kill about 6800 during the story if you clear every map completely, and you'll get the rest from the Tower Defense missions and Scenario achievements.
