How to unlock the Let loose the Ghost of War achievement in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing - Definitive Guide

[EASY SOLUTION]

Have Katerina on "far away attack" mode and go to the Gallows Bog,
there is an "Electric Monster" boss guarded by many soldiers.
Lure them away, kill them and then go for the boss.
Then drop the boss' health to a minimum and let Katerina shoot him.
As soon as he dies -> *pop*

I thought it would be harder to get, but this was really easy.

The ignis fatum in gallowsbog counts as a boss, apparently.

You can get this much earlier (and in my opinion, easier) than what some of the others have mentioned.

In the very first major area you'll come to after the first town (it's called Croakwood), in the top right (NE) corner, you'll find an ominous scarecrow that leads to the first accessible Inkwalk area in the game. Simply kill the harpy-like creatures around the scarecrow and let Katarina go to town on him. I whittled his health down a decent portion to help, but I had her on level 5 and she did plenty of damage.

Simple as that!

I used the gigantic spider boss in the mines for this, but with Lady Katarina pick the wail of vengeance skill in the blue blood skills. When she dies there will be a huge aoe explosion. What I did was get the boss real low on health, the keep running circles around the boss, and wait for her to die. If the explosion didn't kill it. Just keep running in circles. The enemy's shouldn't hit you enough to kill you. Eventually you will kill it, and it should pop.

There are over a dozen boss fights in the game, so there are plenty of opportunities for this. You can whittle the boss down to minimal health, then just sit back and let Katarina do the rest. Make sure you don't use any DOT attacks (damage over time) or the lingering effect from that might be the final damage dealt. The first boss in the game is The Wingless Messiah found in the Ominous Scarecrow Ink Well in Croakwood. Focus on killing the smaller enemies and knock his health down to 10-20 and then just do nothing until Katarina kills him.

Others throughout the game you can do this with include:

  • Ignis Fatuus (Gallowsbog - follow a wisp found in the northern section)
  • Electriferous Beast (Gallowsbog - during "The Blacksmith's Request" side-quest)
  • Tweedledee (Gallowsbog - rotate the four frog statues to face each other)
  • Tweedledum (Gallowsbog - spawns with Tweedledee)
  • Electriferous Beast-King (Gallowsbog - story boss)
  • Judge Obesovsky (Gallowsbog - story boss)
  • Arachnid Leviathan (Orichalcum Mines - take the left path)
  • Drill Worm (Hauling Station - story boss)
  • The Rabbit (Lost Place - see the Ink Master achievement)
  • Dark Alchemist (Rookery - during the "Dark Alchemist" side-quest)
  • Mastermind Genius (Old Tunnels - story boss)
  • Breda (Secret Lair - story boss)
  • Marquis of Soot (The Gables - story boss)
  • Professor Fulmigati (The Palace of Machines - story boss)
