After finding camp and moving into the excavation site you will eventually make your way into a new area where you find a broken probe. After fixing it you can drop down the rocks and if you follow either the left or right path you will eventually reach some lava, simply go up to it and jump across to gain the achievement.

Super easy achievement to get,. You can gain this right after you activate the teleprobe just after the excavation site towards the beginning of the game, follow the branches through with the detector and jump across the lava flow that you find.
