Pick up the mallet and move it around with the thumbstick and dpad to try and hit the gong. You might wanna stand behind the gong

I didn't realize I could use the D-pad when I got the achievement. I actually got it by moving behind the gong and picking up the mallet lol

This does take a bit of trying to satisfy. Head to the gong in the foyer and try to examine the mallet. Moving it around and trying it at different times seemed to actually satisfy it for me, so if you don't get it immediately, try it any time your path in following someone takes you to the foyer.

The gong is in the main entryway of the house, near where Tesla's body is found. Simply pick up the gavel and try to hit the gong with it.
