By following Flora (first chapter, after dining room), Vandenberg (second chapter, before interacting with Gustav and Edison incriminating Bernhardt), or any other characters (third chapter, after Flora's scream), you will find yourself within the secret workshop of Tesla, where the grander designs far ahead of his time can be found.

The first time you can access the secret basement is at 6:06 in Chapter 1. You access it through a secret door in the library, and later you can take the secret path in the corridor near the small living room. Some scenes will take place here so you should get this trophy naturally.
