How to unlock the The Poll Mine: Vs the World achievement in The Jackbox Party Pack 8 - Definitive Guide
The good news is that I have created an automated solution for this crazy achievement. The bad news is that it requires tremendous amounts of computer resources. Let me explain.
The way this solution works is to automatically open a boatload of "headless" browser tabs, navigate to the jackbox.tv website, and log into the game with the room code. What is a "headless" browser? It is a browser with no visual display. The computer is processing the web pages as text in the background. You will not see it, but your computer is doing some serious processing. All that RAM you bought for your gaming rig has finally paid off. I have 24GB of RAM on my PC, and it was not enough to get the job done. I had to recruit a friend to help. Together, we were able to open enough headless browser tabs to unlock this achievement. I didn't need to repetitively open 1000 tabs. That method is for savages.
Please direct your browser to the following URL: https://github.com/bprussell/VstheWorld
This contains the instructions to unlock the achievement, but I will restate them here. These instructions are for PC users. It should be possible to run this on a Mac, but I don't have one, so you are on your own to adapt these instructions for the inferior platform.
1. Extract the VstheWorld GitHub repository to your PC.
2. Install the latest version of NodeJS from nodejs.org
3. Open PowerShell and navigate to the location where you cloned the repository
4. Install dependencies by executing the "npm i" command
5. Start a new The Pole Mine game in Streamer Mode. Once the game is started and can accept audience members, pause the game with .
6. Run the script in PowerShell by executing the following command, assuming the room code is ABCD: npm start ABCD
This will open 334 "headless" browser tabs on your machine. I had initially tried to do this with 1000 browser tabs at a time, but it completely locked my machine and barely created any sessions at all. 334 is the default value, but you can specify the number of sessions you want to run by using the flag like this: npm start ABCD -- --sessions 500
Unpause the game and see how many audience members there are. Keep repeating step 6 until you get 1000 members in the audience, or you run out of RAM. I ran out of RAM with 768 members in the audience on my first attempt. On my second attempt, I recruited a friend. We both ran a few instances of the script, and when I eventually unpaused my game, I had 1012 audience members in the lobby, and the achievement unlocked.

This solution for getting the very notorious achievement "vs the world" in The Jackbox Party Pack 8 is a much easier solution than other online guides I've found. It does not require any use of your browser, any noteworthy processing power and is almost plug and play.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to get the achievement:
1. Open The Jack Box Party Pack 8 and open The Poll Mine. When the lobby is open and waiting for people to join, take note of the room code. Keep the lobby open. Make sure that audience is turned on in the settings and that there are no limits to how many people can join.
2. Dowload Python.
2.1 On Windows 11, open powershell (you can do this by going to the windows search bar and write powershell and clicking on it when windows have found it) and enter python. Then press enter. The windows store-page for python should pop up and you can install python from there. If this does not work. Download python through your browser (python.org) and install it.
2.2 On Mac/Linux, download Python 3.10 through your browser (python.org) and install it.
3. Download this program from github. The link to that is https://github.com/Naxaes/jackbox-pollmine-vs-the-world.
4. Extract the files to wherever.
5. Open the folder.
6. Right click on the file called main.py.
7. Choose "Open with" and select python (for me this is Python 3.10).
7.1 On Mac, this is replaced by python launcher 3
8. The program will run and a request in a command prompt-window will pop up.
9. Enter your room-code and press enter.
10. After a few moments, Jackbox will register a thousand people to have joined the audience and the achievement should pop up.
That's it! This solution is very easy, takes no skill and works on Windows 11, Mac and Linux.
If you run into any issues, please consult the README-file in the folder that you downloaded.
If you get stuck in a neverending loading-screen in The Jackbox Party Pack 8 after having messed up and not getting this achievement by following this guide, you might have been given a timeout from the server, I ran into this while testing the code. Wait a few hours, make sure you follow each step properly before trying again. If you still run into any big issues, leave a comment on this guide and we will get back to you.
Credit to Naxaes for writing the program. He noticed my frustration and wrote this program in about an hour, what a hero!

I had 3 friends with PC setups and not sure why but 1 of them seeded from 380 to 1000 in a matter of seconds and the achievement popped!! Yay!!, while the other 2; one got to 780 and crashed and the other got to 450 and crashed...
my mac got to 245 and crashed..
On my mac I had to search a command to give me a certificate to even allow me to do this I will share that info if it helps:
sudo /Applications/Python\ 3.11/Install\ Certificates.command
Thanks RikkiTikkiG for the solution
Best of luck for those going for this ridiculous achievement
Cheers!!

Awesome that someone has come up with a solution to this tiresome achievement, I have been fiddling around with it and on some occasions it gets to about 300-400 audience members before getting a timeout. Any idea what I am doing wrong? I can PM a screenshot of the error if need be.

For anyone who's wondering... there's no trick around this for the most part. You actually have to have 1000 people/ browser windows open for this.
I used an autoclicker to click on the Join button to mixed results. The goal was to trick the game into thinking that more than one person was entering the room right then. Sometimes using the clicker gave me 6 audience members, sometimes as many as 30, but while it was working it was between 10-15. After a while, Jackbox caught on to that browser and I couldn't add any new audience members from there. I had to switch to another browser. I had Firefox, Chrome, and Edge all open.
The last 250 I actually did by hand. The clicker I was using didn't seem to work with Chrome. So while you may be able to skirt a fair amount using a clicker, I probably did about 400 total by hand.
Suggestion: don't do this all on one PC, if you do it that way. With 20 left, none of my browsers could make new players, and I had to have a friend do the last 20. I was going to be so mad to be that close...
Happy browser opening!

I suggest connecting as the 2 players using the phone in order to leave all the pc browsers for the audience. Also, using incognito will count as an additional browser.

Yeah, I used my phone for the players. I couldn't believe when I ran out of browsers at 980, and didn't have access to my other PC right then.
