In James’ Limbo, there is an anchor right at the bottom called ‘Spider Anchor’. To progress within this zone, you will require the flashlight which is obtained through progression of the story.
When you have the necessary item (plus fully upgraded), make your way left into the darkness and follow the route down. When you continue to travel left, go up and left when possible and continue until you have to travel upwards and you will reach the cutscene of a spider and Benedict turning into James. I would recommend during your navigation of this dark zone to constantly opening your map and seeing how the new area looks so you know how to proceed. Also, before you die and the flashlight empties, just restart fast travel back to the spider anchor to go again.
Onto the spider itself, it’s a hide and seek style challenge across the screen, with the first area you having to hide from the spiders red glare. This can get incredibly frustrating as the timing window is not very forgiving and he runs so.. so.. slow. If you die it will restart you at the beginning of the spider scene and not the anchor which is a slight relief. There is a mini chase scene where you have to jump up at the right time and after it all a mini cutscene will play (don’t skip if you are after the relevant achievement) and this one will unlock.

Nothing wrong with this guide. But is there any way to know the right time to jump in the flight bit after the hiding - this guy is so slow and I keep dying. The chase sequences in this game are very tight on timing.
Edit: jump once to get on the ledge - but before you reach the ledge. If you time it right you can walk up the slant and then jump twice to break the bit to shine the light without getting caught.

To enter this area, you need to upgrade the pistol (the last upgrade project) in order to open the purple wall. The main difficulty in avoiding spider red light is in the first section of the road, where the middle obstacle requires lying down at the moment of red light scanning (the duration of the lying down action is very short)
