How to unlock the Mall rat mayhem achievement in The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom - Definitive Guide
Warning: Potential game break glitch details follow
Bellybuster will give you a quest that takes place in District 2 after defeating the District 3 boss, so don't panic if you don't have this before entering District 3
Glitch info - There is a quest for Skaelka (the warrior north of the market, past Chef, stood next to a car) which requires you to go to the South East of District 2.3 - Wakefield Shopping
The area you are asked to defend can be cut off to the player if you go for the chest in the park nearby. Doing so can make it near impossible to pass. You'll be asked to defeat over 60 enemies which is incredibly difficult from the wrong side of the barrier
You can use your summon () and/or your ability () but as both of these are recharged from enemy drops you'll be lucky to achieve it this way. Secondly, there are ground traps that do minimal damage and whilst you can't lure the enemies to them in this position, you may get lucky with these
If you leave the area, reload a checkpoint or exit the game, enemies will no longer spawn in relation to this quest. I've yet to discover if this affects the quests for districts 3 and 4, but as many as the side quests are given by the same characters I think it's safe to assume this is the case
I recommend taking the quest from Skaelka first and moving around the outside of the specified area for simplicity
