The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel

Missable

You will unlock this trophy after you have a private chat with Emma in Dance Event at Night on October 24.

As the story progresses, you will have a chance to spend time with any character who is available during your free days (some of these character events will give you more info about them which is required for Social Note-working). Just keep spending time with them whenever you can, then during the school festival, you can have a private chat with them and unlock the trophy. However, you also need those characters' Link EXP to reach certain amount of EXP.

Here is the list of possible activities of which the character can gain Link EXP:

Note: Bonding Points can be saved up until Evening and must be used within the same day (before Rean goes back to the Class VII Dormitory)
 

Bonding Events

• X - Character is available during Free Time on specific days
• (X) - Character is available during Free Time on specific days (also unlocks NPC's Character Note information)
• O - Character is available during Free Time on specific days (also unlocks his/her Character Note information)
• Bonding Point - indicate how many times you can spend time with other characters during Free Time (one character per point)

A good way to speed up the process of earning these trophies is listed below:

Five Tickets Method: (gain 1500 or 1550 Link EXP)

There is also something important to note below, which will greatly reduce the time needed for the character trophies, but it doesn't reduce the time to plat the game since you need to play the game for more than 100 hours anyway: (Please read the Note below)

1. Save the game on October 22 before the school festival (October 23) OR you can save the game on October 23 before using any festival ticket
2. Use five tickets to hang out with the character you want as long as their Link EXP satisfies the requirement
3. Save the game after you defeat the boss in the last dungeon
4. Continue up until the Dance Event (October 24) where you can choose a character to interact with, which will lead to their specific trophy.
5. Make a separate save file here in case you want to use this save data to continue the game
6. Reload the save data:
   • From Step 3 if there are still more characters available to choose in the Dance Event
   • From Step 1 (any save data) proceed to earn the other character trophies (ignore Step 3 and 5)

Note:

• This method is only good if your characters are pretty strong since you need to defeat the boss in the last dungeon multiple times; otherwise, you should aim for these Bonding Trophies in the 2nd playthrough.
• In case your characters are somewhat strong enough to handle the boss, you should do a perfect run (collect every treasure chest, scan the enemies, etc.) then make a separate save (Step 5). Reload the game (Step 1) then ignore everything and rush to the boss in the last dungeon, use every rare item (such as Zeram Powder or Zeram Capsule) to recover CP to perform S-Break on the boss for a quick kill.
• Class VII Main Members' Link EXP is 4350+, Crow and Millium's Link EXP is 2600+, Instructor Sara's Link EXP is 3500+, and Towa's Link EXP is 1100+ before using five tickets
• You can use this method as a last resort in case you mess up the character's Bonding Events.

Two Playthroughs Method: (highly recommended)

Here is the required Link EXP towards to Rean and Condition for Characters' Bonding Trophy:

Class VII's Main Members

1. Link EXP: 5250
2. Fulfill one of these conditions:
   • Spend time with him/her during the Free Day in Chapter 6
   • Ask him/her to go to the Imperial Capital city to pick up the Stage Costume (Bike Event)
   • Use at least 2 tickets on the Military Academy Festival Day

Millium and Crow

1. Link EXP: 3500 or more
2. Fulfill one of these conditions:
3. Spend time with him/her during the Free Day in Chapter 6
   • Ask him/her to go to the Imperial Capital city to pick up the Stage Costume (Bike Event)
     • Note: Crow will go with you if you choose to go alone
   • Use at least 2 tickets on the Military Academy Festival Day

Instructor Sara

1. Link EXP: 4400 or more
2. Fulfill one of these conditions:
   • Spend time with her during the Free Day in Chapter 6
   • Use at least 2 tickets on the Military Academy Festival Day

Towa

1. Link EXP: 2000 or more (Note: You can't see her Link EXP, just take note of how many times you spend with her)
2. Fulfill one of these conditions:
   • Spend time with her during the Free Day in Chapter 5
   • Use at least 2 tickets on the Military Academy Festival Day

Here is the required Link EXP in total for Link Level:

• LV1 -> 0
• LV2 -> 1000
• LV3 -> 2000
• LV4 -> 3500
• LV5 -> 5250

Note:

• With this method, you need to carry over Link Level to 2nd playthrough, then grind for Link EXP if the characters' Link EXP doesn't satisfy the requirement by letting them fight in the battle (3 Link EXP for each battle). And then you need to plan out the Bonding Event, Bike Event, and Festival Ticket for the character who is lacking the sufficient Link EXP.
• During the 1st playthrough, you should try to get at least any 4 Character Bonding trophies (if you follow the Overall Walkthrough guide, then you can unlock Bonding Trophies up to 5), then spend time with the remaining characters in the 2nd playthrough.
• Just in case your characters should have more than the required Link EXP, especially Towa, I recommend you to aim for her Bonding Trophy on the 2nd playthrough by viewing all her Bonding Events and using some festival tickets (just in case) because you don't have to worry about Character Note from other characters' Bonding Event since you already saw all of them on the 1st playthrough.
• It seems you can only see the character Link EXP whenever they gain Link EXP or their Link Level is increased. I suggest that you buy the books which boost 50 or 100 Link EXP for certain characters. Save the game then double check their Link EXP, and then reload the save in order to save that book so you can check character's Link EXP whenever you want (you can buy these books in Keynes's Bookstore in every chapter, but note that the book is only used once for certain character).
