This can be done only in Chapters 2, 4 and 5 and might take you a few tries but this trophy isn't too difficult to obtain. Naga is a polar bear dog that belongs to Korra as her animal companion and main form of her transportation. Naga running sequence is when Korra rides her throughout the town while jumping, sliding, dodging, turning left or right. You can complete any Naga running sequence you wish, but the first one is the easiest as these get harder along the way. The good news is there is a mode called Naga Running practice which is unlocked right after completing Chapter 2: Powerless, which can be accessed by pressing either the / or /. Playing these practice stages will not affect your overall medal scores, but you can use these practice stages to replay the chapter's Naga Running sequence over again. This will give you an opportunity to attempt the trophy as long as you do it without hitting anything. This last bit of information isn't really necessary; you can wait to attempt this trophy until Korra relearns her bending styles such as water bending in order to make this trophy easier to obtain. You can press protect yourself from damage during the Naga running sequence. Earth will make you double jump over larger gaps, Air will make you run faster, while Fire can shot fireballs to destroy objects in Naga's path.
Below are a few tips to go about doing this:
- Use the for better control over Naga.
- Don't go for the Spirit Energy orbs they are not important.
- Try to stay in the middle path area just encase you need to dodge left or right.
- Don't attempt to jump on every wooden (or ice) ledge you come across, except the ones that are needed to jump over a wall.
- Tab to do a short jump over gaps on the ground, you can also hold it longer to jump higher (this becomes an Earth bending style jump later on).
- Be sure to jump over the smaller cars that are impossible for you to avoid in time.
- Don't attempt to jump over a truck because they are too big.
- Be quick to slide under all blockades walls with
- Press when your bending water gauge is full to wrap yourself in a water barrier of protection. It'll allow you to take a few extra hits as long as you have the water barrier up.
So don't worry if you don't get this within a chapter sequence.
After clearing the chapter, you can return via chapter select by highlighting the chapter with a running Naga symbol and pressing (and X of course) to call up the Naga sequence directly.
I did this on Chapter 2's Naga Running sequence on Normal. I've attached a video of that sequence done on Extreme difficulty which seems to have a few more obstacles.
Also the trophy's "without hitting anything" requirement is not that strict. It's more like as long as Naga doesn't get hurt. Players in sister site TrueAchievements have reported sideswiping and jumping on cars without taking damage and still getting the trophy (or achievement in their case), so I recommend not giving up immediately after hitting an object with no damage, just to see if you earn the trophy and to get the spirit points you collected. ;)
My personal advice is to
(1) use the directional buttons to control Naga since they respond faster, especially when you need to change lanes fast and
(2) remember to turn since even though the sequence is on rails, the turns are still manual.
NOTE: Once you clear the game once, you will also have unlocked bending powers. Bending will then be available in all Naga runs, which can help with your runs.
Remember they have cooldowns, so don't spam them and always check for when they're ready (there's a fill-up gauge for progress and audio cue and visual pulse of the symbol when each is ready).
Air speeds you up for a time. (Only good for long clearer stretches. Otherwise, you can more easily hit objects.)
Water gives you a shield that lasts one hit (which won't count as a hit for the trophy, I hear).
Fire shoots a volley of fireballs that can destroy objects in front of you. (Don't rely on them, though.)
Earth gives you a second jump after the first, allowing you to get some higher up collectibles. (Be careful you don't overshoot some gaps and fall into another one.)
Just to review:
Naga runs are sequences where you usually have a 3-lane track of obstacles and have to ride Naga from one point to another.
Your progress is tracked in the lower left bar with a running Naga symbol marking rough position.
You press to jump.
Left and right to change lanes and turn.
to slide under low hanging obstacles.
You also have the buttons to use for bending powers (review powers up above).
Remember Naga runs can be accessed separately via chapter select. :)
Have fun!
Thank you to the fellow players on TrueAchievements for additional insights and the video link!
Naga is avatar Korra's companion. She is a large bear that replaces the redundancy of pounding bad guys' faces in by allowing you to race through locations. There are three chapters where you will race on Naga's back providing you with three increasingly difficult sequences to complete without hitting anything. They can be found in the picture below, although you need to do is play the practice version which can be selected after you select the respected chapters:
So let's deal with what you need to know for chapter two Naga run. If you hit anything at any point in the run you will need to replay the chapter to attempt it again. No resets, no checkpoints, one shot straight through. It's best to not worry about spirit points and focus on staying in the center and planning your moves out. If you attempt this later on with your reclaimed elemental powers be sure not to use the because of it's added speed and floating/flying which will add a new level of difficulty to the mix.
