You can find many chests in the game; you’ll probably unlock this trophy without even worrying about it. A very easy chest that you’ll probably find on your own is right after defeating the Apocalypseburg boss, before going to the next level.
It’s recommended to open every chest you see as you’ll earn Relics as rewards and they are required to get some useful objects for collecting the Master Pieces.

This is story related and cannot be missed. Discovery chests glow gold and contain studs, colored brick pickups and sometimes relics. There are many opportunities to unlock this achievement but the first is when you first have control of your character in Apocalypseburg. Look around and you will see a brown dome close by. Your first task is to talk to Unikitty, collect enough colored bricks to build a Micro Manager and then free Lucy. But before you do that, to the right of Unikitty, behind a pile of bricks, is your first discovery chest. Climb over the bricks or walk around the dome to smash it open for your reward and this achievement.
