Also, you can use the Xbox Accessories app to temporarily swap buttons. I swapped B with LB so I could easily hold down LB while steering and jumping. I only needed this trick for a race on the Docks.

You are so right about the docks. I was worried that since this is the third area and it took me about 15 attempts to get Gold, how much harder the later races would be.

Thanks for the tip MathGuy42, it was entirely needed for that race on The Docks. All the other races were easy to complete, but this one was harsh. I had under 2 seconds to spare.

Did it with 0.08 seconds to spare. Any kind of mistake and you wont get the time (getting caught on something for example)

If you have the Destroy On Contact scroll unlocked, turning it on may help you shave a few tenths of a second off your time. It did for me.

For the race at the docks, use Acronix and off the bat, hit A to jump, then hold B to boost. You'll boost down 3/4 of the slide and shave a good second off your time. That'll give you a bit of buffer. (you can boost mid jump to shave time on the longer jumps (like coming off the shipping crates).

the most brutal race in any lego game. in my opinion anyway but after what felt like 50 (maybe more maybe less) failures I finally completed for gold brick 220. also had almost 3 secs to spare. You have to be almost better than perfect on this race to complete but if I can do anyone can. Listen to the advice above, breathe deep and send it

I've been using Griffin Turner for that Docks race; he also has super speed. This is an annoying race - half the time I fail it's something like a double jump that the game refuses to recognize I did. So far my closest was 1:00.29 !

Another tip: roll. While running with a character, hold RT and they will do a forward roll up to three times. This is faster than running alone. It's slower than super speed, but easier to control. It doesn't work well on stairs or other obstacles, but rolling in straight sections is how I beat almost all of the races.

EDIT: i just got it in 0:49.98 ! I think jumping while boosting (skipping the point-to-point jumping parts by simply jumping over them) made the difference. No need for double jumps when you have super speed jumps!

Races are unlocked as you play through the story. There are 22 of these located throughout Ninjago City and are represented by a checkered flag icon on the mini-map.
