A new thing in this update is the timberwolf pack. I played on the easiest difficulty, and the first one I encountered was just after leaving the community center for the first time.
Using a gun to shoot them should either scare them off or kill them. The first two packs i encountered left with just one shot, but they seem to get more mean over time.
This achievement is probably unavoidable. Either you chase them off, or they kill you. Make sure you put down a survivor quickly to use your gun.

they will always piss of his to land a shot on them. The one and only time I ever experienced 3 wolves at a time was at the literal end as you're walking into a mine.
but yea, shooting "at" them, throwing rocks, shooting flares, throwing flares,(especially the blue ones) will make their morale decay and they'll bail. I wouldn't recommend it but you could also just hold a blue flair during an attack as you make your way to your destination, but I believe you have to face the wolves as they attack to get them to back off. And yes, the achievement is unavoidable as it would be literally impossible to carry a survivor back to town and not deal with the wolves. anywho, +1
