The Long Dark

This a guide on how to obtain the “No Half Measures” Achievement in Episode 4 of Wintermute mode in the game The Long Dark. The task is simply to open a secret Forest Talker cache.

You can find the locked Forest Talker cache needed to complete this achievement in the Mines. In order to access the tumblelock to the door, you need to find all three (3) Forest Talker notes first. Fortunately, they're all in the mine.

You will be required to visit the Mines as apart of the main storyline- so no need to worry about any extra lengthy journeys.

Note #1

The first note is just next to the elevator crank which you need to utilize to go down the elevator. In front of the Floor 1 elevator, turn right. On your left should be the note, sitting next to said crank.

Note #2

The second note is on a corpse, in an area with a lot of toxic gas. The corpse can only be reached by running through a very long and narrow shaft to reach the next valve handle you need to progress.

Note #3

The final note is in the same room as the detonators. Instead of going up the planks, take the stairs to the right; going down. Careful here, take your time and navigate the boards with caution. The end of the wooden scaffolding should have a corpse with the final note.

With the final note, you can either guess the combo from the clues the notes provide- or check the spoiler below.



Finally, input this code into the lock to gain access to a cache within the aforementioned room with the tumblelock. Make sure you open the cache to pop this achievement.
