The Long Dark (UP)

The Long Dark has several types of plants that the player can harvest, each of which offers some boon to them. To obtain this achievement, you must harvest 25 of EACH plant type in a single game. I did this in a Survival Mode game, but it may be doable in Wintermute as well.

The types of plants you'll need to harvest are:

-Cat Tails, found on most maps near sources of fresh water. They can be harvested for the stalks (food), and heads (tinder).

Reishi Mushrooms, found on most maps growing off the stumps of cut down trees. Can be harvested, processed, and boiled into a tea that has antibiotic properties.

Rose Hips, found on most maps, usually in groups of three near named locations and buildings. Can be harvested, processed, and brewed into a tea that eases pain.

Old Man's Bearded Lichen, found on most maps growing from the lower branches of trees, usually in groups of two or three. Can be harvested and processed into a salve that reduces the chance of infection to wounds.

Please note that Maple and Birch saplings do NOT count towards this achievement.

If you are having difficulty finding any or all of these plants, a good way to find harvestable plants is by using the game's mapping function. Simply collect some charcoal from a burned out fire, bring up the quick-access menu with LB, and navigate to the maps icon. Select the charcoal, and press RT to map the area. The area revealed will include the location of nearby plants.

You need 25 rose hip bushes, reishi mushrooms, cat tails and old man's beard lichens in a single game. Each harvest counts as ONE harvest action. Rose hip bushes yield eight rose hips per harvest action, so a total of twenty-five harvests would yield 200 rose hips total.
