How to unlock the Shielded achievement in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria - Definitive Guide
In order to unlock the recipes for the rare Shields (and Helmets) in the game, you have to find and place all of the Statue Carvings for each of the regions.
You'll come across the carvings (and altar where you place them) early on in the game, in the room directly after the first base that the game has you repair.
In each major region, there will be an area to pick up these carvings and place them on an altar. It's important to note where these altars are as you play through the game, so that you can go back and place the carvings if you don't have them already handy!
The rare shields are:
Last Alliance Shield - 3 Steel Ingots, 2 Bronze Ingots, 3 Elven Wood, 1 Hide
Heirloom Shield - 4 Iron Ingots, 6 Wood Scraps
Balin's Company Shield - 6 Steel Ingots, 6 Ironwood
Dimrill Shield - 2 Khazad Steel Ingots, 6 Ironwood, 1 Scales
*Ram's Head Shield (Was actually NOT necessary for the achievement, it was added in the new update!) 5 Steel Ingots, 8 Elven Wood, 1 Scales
If you don't understand what I mean by the carvings and altars, refer to the video below at timestamp 14:11
