How to unlock the Eye of the Needle achievement in The Magister - Definitive Guide

This roadmap is based off of recent memory of just completing the run. So I do apologize if I get something wrong or lead you astray. Please let me know any issues and I will update the guide. I got lucky and finished at the beginning of day 8. So had almost 2 full days of wiggle room! Read everything in this guide before beginning. It's not structured as well as it could be, so best to give it a once over for info thats helpful at the beginning.

I recommend the following set up for class:

Guile
-Quick tempered / Better in combat. Worse in TD.
-Haggling / Thievery / Charisma (recommended, other skills are fine)
-Sword / Either revolver or Hunting Rifle

Guile class so that you start with Tactical diplomacy and for I do not recommend Shotgun. I didn't find it useful at all. You could maybe use Hammer, but it is a bit trickier to play with due to the discard on the hammers. You can get rid of the discard on one of the hammer attacks by upgrading it at the smith.

The ideal path after selecting character,

-Confirm Haggling / Charisma / and Thievery are not locked. Restart run if they are.
-Pick Haggling after discovering the body.
-Talk to everyone on each screen to get all of the exp. (Not the basic NPCs)

1st - Go to the inn. Talk to the inn keeper to get access to the dead body room. Should be able to win TD but I believe charisma he will just hand you the key and thievery you feel him up. Investigate the whole crime scene.

----If you have a crime that involves poison, I kind of recommend you restart. You can do it but it adds extra steps because you have to locate where the poison was from. Which you don't have to do if no poison was involved. Just because there was food doesn't mean there was poison. Just eat the food to find out if it is poisoned.

2nd - Go back to the docks. Get the bar made to give you clues and get the captains quests. You often times have to talk to the barmaid again to finish a clue and then go furth into the docks to talk to the guy about the tower. You can also do courtesan or what ever her name is but don't spend the money.

3rd. - Go to Village Square. Grab the 2 quests. Grab the doctor quest and the clue from the other NPC about the gryphon ruckus. Pay for an upgrade at the smith and start the huntress quest.

4th - Go to message tower and get your skill point and hire the mage. You can use him to identify a lot of your clues and he is essential for combat. Other 2 companions work for combat just fine but they aren't as helpful when it comes to clues. The guile guy will some times have a clue.

4th - Do some quests.

5th - at the inn play the dice game with the guy to get his 2 clues. If you are lucky you can get 3 coins without losing anything. Don't get unlucky...or just menu quit and try again. Talk with inn he will give you 1 relation for get the barmaid back to work. Pay for 2 coins to sleep in a room for 2 more nights and you will then be able to get rumors from the inn keeper which sometimes lead to motives! After he is 3 relation, it only costs 1 to sleep at night. I recommend to always do this unless you wont have 2 to pay for your companion each day.

6th - Good luck! From here it is up to you to tackle things as efficiently as possible. Make sure to have everyones relationship to 3 and make sure they all told you something! and make sure you have the motive for the killer. The other motives don't matter. If poison is involved, make sure you went to the place the poison is from.

-Good luck to you and your RNG angel!

Tactical Diplomacy Tips
-With Guile you can build a dice roll burn deck.
-Prioritize 'Think Again' refreshes the shop cards. Then either the draw 2 discard 1 or 'Lets Chat' draw 2. Then 'It's Not Luck' high rolls dice cards. Then 'Gambit' reduces rage. Then 'Compromise' 3 emp and banishes a card.
-Banish the bad card you start with or basic 1 cards.
Sorry I don't know how to explain this better because I don't remember the names. TD should be relatively consistent wins for 5 or lower. 6 threats are a 50/50 depending on your luck.

Things to keep in mind,
-You can hit start and Quit to Menu in almost any situation if you don't like how a fight is going or if you screwed something up. I only had to use it once but I think I could have used it way more often.
-Always try to visit blue events on the map and some red events. If the event is too hard, just use the method above.
-You can enter an area and exit the area before talking with anyone and it WONT pass the time. Use this method to get around the map avoiding red events when necessary.
-Always choose the reward that gives the most trinkets, so that you can sell to trader and raise her rank.
-You don't need to confront people about their motive for 3 exp. You can for the exp, but don't go out of your way to waste time. As long as it shows it in you clues, then you are good.
-Click on all your clues as you get them.
-Always have a companion with you and a pet. I had the mage with me for 80% and then at the end I had the Guile guy due to needing him to uncover something for me.
-Take care of everything in an efficient manner. Try to talk with everyone in a zone, finish all quests for a zone on the same day as each other and turn them all in on the same day as each other.

Skill Points
-Discovering the body
-Messenger tower sending update.
-Killing or TD the demon in your dreams. You proc this from sleeping with the courtesan girl
-Pay 7 money at the temple
-Can get them from leveling.
-Guard Captain gives you one as a reward in his quest line.

Could be other skill points but I believe this is all of them.
