How to unlock the More Like 'Dumb In General' achievement in The Messenger - Definitive Guide
The Demon General is the toughest fight up to this point in the game because one of his attacks is very difficult to avoid if you're not ready for it. Here's what to expect against him.
The General will start off by dashing towards you at high speed. You can avoid this by jumping over him.
When you dodge his dash attacks, he'll throw his blade into the wall and teleport himself to where the blade it. He will then dive straight towards you from wherever he is, jump just before he reaches you.
After beating up on him a little bit, he'll throw his blades to opposite sides of the room and stick in the wall. The blades will then create a horizontal line of fire along the bottom of the room forcing you to chain jump attacks on the faces that appear in the holes in the background. Every time you hit a face, it retreats into the background and others emerge, hitting the next one does the same thing. Keep chaining your jumps and make your way towards the General and hit him as many times as you can. He does not get stunned like previous bosses, so he'll either end that attack or teleport to the opposite side of the screen where you'll have to chain your jump attacks and slash him on the other side.
After slashing him a bunch of times during that fire phase, he will become enraged and much quicker. He will dash towards you, dive bomb you from the walls and ceiling at a much quicker pace until he performs his final attack. He throws his blades into the air and they are linked together by fireballs. The reach is quite long and they move pretty quick if you're not ready to jump over them. The key here is to be as far away from them as possible and jump so they move high in the air so you can sneak beneath them or stay low to the ground and jump over them at the last second. This was by far the hardest part of the fight and you shouldn't feel bad if this part kills you cause the RNG of the blades is annoying. If you can outlast this attack, he'll appear in the middle of the room "stunned" and you need to slash and throw shurikens at him as fast as you can and he'll go down quickly.

This is the final boss of the first half of the game. He can be found at the end of the Underworld. The boss is one of the harder ones but still quite manageable. Below is a video, credit of the video to the user OHSHIET (hope their nick isn't a bad omen).
Story-Related, can't be missed
Another tricky fight that needs you to learn very well the attack patterns. He is fast but he has many openings that can be used to damage him often.
