How to unlock the No Argument Here achievement in The Messenger - Definitive Guide

If you don't want to attempt this during your first playthrough, this achievement is CAKE if you complete the DLC first and then head into New Game+

Edit: For those asking how to play the DLC, you need to beat the game once. The Orb wasn't active until I grabbed the Key of Chaos (I also had all key items minus Power of True Sight in my possession) So the DLC seems to want you at a specific point in the game before the game acknowledges DLC is indeed a thing but you still need to beat the game.

Once the Orb in the Shopkeepers Lab has a cn_up above it use it. If The Messenger asks can he do the DLC now and the Shopkeeper tells you no, he'll automatically open the Store for you and take you to the DLC page for a free download. If the Shopkeeper tells you it's additional content, the orb will prompt you to return after finishing your adventure. If you have finished your adventure, you'll be allowed in.

Finish the DLC Picnic Panic and get every collectible to make the mask. Start a new game+ and head for a shop and unlock

Once you have that Unlocked Bosses die in what felt like 5 hits. The Queen of Quills dies in like 8 or something.

You become such a tank nothing ever phased me. Just watch out for pits or being squished.

Popped this in under 30min. You won't get to see a unique cutscene really but your Achievement still pops.

Yeah it’s like 5-hits, 5-hits, 10-hits 15-hits from 1st to 4th boss. The Deal made this silly easy.

Getting squished or falling into a pit is totally possible but they are pretty avoidable compared to other games.

This achievement might sound hard but it's not. You have to start a new game and get to the 4th boss and defeat her without dying.

It will count as a death when the screen freeze and Red demon begins to write on a scroll. I did found out that if you die from a pit or from an enemy, you can just quickly close the game and jump back into the game and start again from a previous checkpoint and it won't count as a death

Can confirm that closing the app on death works. You know you did it successfully if you don't have your red friend following you.

This isn't as hard as it seems. If you take your time during the platforming sections and play carefully, you'll arrive at the Queen of Quills in under 2 hours time and beating her will trigger this achievement.

If you fall into a pit, get crushed by a moving platform or die for any reason at all, you can let the death screen load and then quit/force close the game to preserve your deathless run.

Whatever you do, don't press "A" or "Space bar" if you're on PC. You can safely close the game and load up your save no problem. I have personally tested it by purposely throwing myself into several pits along the way since the start of the game and loading up my save and the achievement unlocked no problem.

This is the "hardest" trophy of the game and requires you to play the game in New Game+ (or in New Game, but it becomes harder) until you reach and defeat the Queen of Quills without dying once. 

You have to play through:
  • Autumn Hills
  • Catacombs
  • Bamboo Creek
  • Howling Grotto
  • Quillshroom Marsh
There are 2 ways to face this trophy:
  • Brave one: Once you complete the game and get all the other trophies, start a New Game+ (or a New Game for a harder challenge) in a new slot and play the game. This can be quite challenging, as you need to be careful, especially if you are a masochist and decide to play the game in New Game. Try to remember the patterns of the enemies and the bosses and avoid the death pits.
  • Easy one: Once you complete the game and get all the other trophies, jump on the DLC. Gather all pieces of the mask and once you unlock the new "character", start a New Game+. Now, reach the first shop and accept to do the "deal". The deal will remove your ability to resurrect but will give you double hit points, ammos and triple strength. Thanks to this, you will be able to breeze through bosses, enemies and almost all parts of the game. The only real danger are the deadly pits. Luckily, there are not so many of them and almost all of them can be easily avoided.
Once you defeat the Queen of Quills, the trophy will unlock.

The trophy is available on NG+. If you, like me, missed this trophy, completed the pichic panic dlc and collected the voodoo mask, you can start NG+ and exchange endless lives that are useless for this trophy for double health and 3x damage. bosses fly off with a couple of pokes.
