How to unlock the Star Messenger achievement in The Messenger - Definitive Guide
Here's my take on this achievement. You need to beat the race that begins at the end of the DLC with a score of 5:0. This is one of the hardest, but with my tip hopefully you can make it. After watching several videos, reading tips, nobody seemed to have a reliable method for round 5.
Before we get to the video, here's text version. Round 1~3 is easy and you can get it with some practice easily, so check the video if you need help with that. Round 4 & 5, I will describe briefly in text format. Check the video for further reference.
Round 4:
Start with a shuriken to kill the enemy on the right. Rope dart on the ring, but keep slashing to get any projectiles. Dart attach to the wall and climb up. Duck below the first ball&chain. Rope dart to the enemy, and then to the wall. Climb up and rope dart across the lanterns. Climb up again. Throw three shurikens, hopefully killing them all. If any enemies are left slash as you go left and then climb up.
Rope dart on the ring, hopefully dodging between the saws. Climb up. Rope dart on the first green enemy. Jump and glide, downward slashing continuously to get to the left wall. Climb up and rope dart on the ring to finish.
Round 5:
You need to constantly move without any stop to the momentum. If you stop for even a second, it's a fail.
Jump to the right off the edge. Rope dart on the ring and then hold A immediately to glide. When you see the first lantern, let go of A to stop gliding. (Slash lantern, jump) x4 (NO GLIDING!!!)
After 4th lantern, start gliding, do a downward stab on the enemy's projectile, and keep gliding. As you glide down, jump and adjust your gliding speed so that you are collecting all the yellow things as you go down. Downward stab the lantern, rope dart, let go of A, slash lantern, jump, slash lantern, jump, rope dart on the ring, rope dart to the wall (if needed, in the video I actually miss the ring rope dart, but rope dart to the wall saved me) Jump up to the top of the wall, rope dart to the end for finish!
Congratulation! Here's video:

This achievement is awful. Why they are asking us to do things we have never done before in the whole game I don’t know. And the fact that you have to start again each time you fail the 5th one... This gets my vote for the worst achieving of the year so far.

So I came back to it today, got through it on my third attempt 😅 it's amazing what a good sleep can do for a frustrated gamer! Starting to glide after the 4th lantern is critical if you want to clear the first section, the second is much easier to improvise your way through. Just keep yourself as high as possible and mash rope dart like a crazy person if you're anywhere near the end!

I want to address the last room number 5.
I've seen a number of strategies but nothing solid, my solution involves a number of things that improves chances of success. Doing these little changes resulted in me getting the acheivement 1st try.
The first is the most obvious, the button mapping currently is hampering success. The time you spend switching your thumb from to and opens up windows for error because of the high speed movement of the task. To combat this I went into the Xbox Accessories app and mapped to and to . So that no finger movement is necessary.
Next I went and found the dev intended strategy for beating this by watching the Dark Messenger on someone elses video. What I found was very interesting, the Dark Messenger glides the entire time. Given he does easy strategies for the other 4 rooms for this acheivement I figured this was the way to go.
With this gliding strategy in mind going into this task becomes easier. Since hitting objects below you gives a sudo jump you only need to hit every second object. The cloud step can then be used to skip having to hit every second object, thus increasing your chances of success. Even with missing the rings for added boost forward success is still possible.

Button mapping was the key to my eventual success so thanks for this. I used RT for the grapple and LT for the shuriken.

After trying the top guide for about an hour, I got it using this method on my second try.

This achievement is missable. In order to get this achievement you have to win the race against Dark Messenger with perfect score.
First 4 rounds are quite easy, reaching monsters with Rope Dart before Dark Messenger can give you a real advantage. Fifth round is the real challenge, you have very little margin to outrace your shadow, but it quite slowdown a bit, just avoid touching the floor after your first jump, you have to be fast hitting on lamps (or monsters) and jump to keep the peace.
I made a short video the first time I succeeded. I miss step a couple of times in round 4 and 5, but Dark Messenger slowdown a bit every round, that give you a chance to beat him with perfect score.
Round 1: 0:28
Round 2: 0:42
Round 3: 0:59
Round 4: 1:17
Round 5: 1:46
Good luck

Not much else is needed to add to these great solutions that are already on the achievement solution. Thanks all for your tips, they really helped!
Keep in mind that this achievement can be missed, but the race can be restarted when going back into the DLC upon completion without having to redo the whole thing (that is how I got mine).
I just wanted to add some words of encouragement for those struggling. As others have said the first 3 parts are pretty easy, the 4th part is a bit tricky and the 5th part just takes some practice. Don't be discouraged, keep trying and you can do it! As you can see in my video, you don't have to have a perfect run at all, the main thing is getting the first set of jumps in right in the last part.
