This is apparently story related but for some reason I missed it in my first play though...
In the Ep2 Chapter "Under the rader", you will need to sneak through a junkyard to get the combine cannon. When you get inside the shed where the cannon is controlled, go to the thing on the wall that's controlling the cannon, open it up and drop a grenade in it to destroy it.
