How to unlock the Health Insurance achievement in The Outer Worlds - Definitive Guide

As others have said this will come naturally by playing the game especially on Supernova.

If your like me and like to get the easy achievements out of the way just do this:

Start a game up, as soon as you land and are walking along following the prompts (tutorial). You get to a section where you jump down and are told you need medical aid and to use your Medical Inhaler.
*This can be done at anytime you have inhaler charges.

BEFORE YOU DO THIS SAVE YOUR GAME.

1.Now use the inhaler 11 times (LB). Save your game again in another slot. This updates the achievement tracker.

2.Now load your first save and use the inhaler 11 times again. Save to your second save.

3.Repeat till you get achievement takes about 20 minutes.

Edit: Per Kerman7 this carries over on multiple playthroughs.

Can confirm this, except I saved every 25 times for easy counting. :)

If you go "the natural" way, does it continue to count across new games? Starting my supernova playthrough, hoping that the 100 or so inhaler uses on my first playthrough will carry over

Not sure if they carry over or not like I said in my guide I got mine out of the way so I didn't have to worry about it. You can do this at any time and playing through the game you end up with quite a bit so if you don't have it by the end of your supernova run just make a save and follow the guide above.

Progress does carry over multiple games.
Also this will absolutely NOT come 'naturally'. This is a proper RPG and not an FPS so you will get it only if your 'natural' is 'guns blazing' (although even then, you could max companions or time dilatation and still not get hurt much).
I played two full stories, including supernova, including a lot of side quests, yet had only 25% on this at the end. That's because my 'natural' in an RPG (especially high difficulty) is dialog and sneak.
When this was my last to unlock, I reloaded a late game on easy mode where I had about 150 health stock.

Ugh. This is super obnoxious. Tracker has completely stopped updating. Tried using the Inhaler across several saves. This has happened a few times with only this game. Really annoying.

My progress got stuck at 99%. Starting a new game fixed it.

Progress towards these achievements get stored when you save. So if you perform actions, then die or otherwise load a save game without saving in between, then no progress will be stored and the tracker won’t update.

Also, at the end of any given playthrough you will “naturally” have a few hundred unused inhalers, making this really quick to get. ;)

- Pressing cn_LB will cause you to use a medical inhaler (used to heal you)

- This could come naturally if your going for all the cheevs

- Keep in mind you can create medical inhalers yourself in the menu using healing items! (use only one slot to maximize your inhaler uses)

- Remember the SAVE trick to help you grind this out faster
One trick that helps with all of the "do this X amount of times" cheevs...use the SAVE feature to RELOAD SAVES helping you grind those out easier. *However people have said that it can cause the tracker to stop going up...so if this happens, try saving after you do one run, SAVE on a new file, then RELOAD the old one. Rinse & Repeat.

As Sashamorning said, reloading your save won't work.

The easiest way is to start a game on easy (Story), kill and loot as many people as you can, when available, unlock the "Snake Oil Salesman" perk in the Tier 2 perks tree, it will grant you 50% more Bits for each item you sell.

Then go to a vending machine and sell everything you have, you will need to visit multiple vending machines so make sure you have fast travel points in different areas, buy 300 health consumables, they don't have to be Adreno.

Depending on your Medical skill (under Tech), you will have between 1 and 4 Inhaler slots. If you have 2 or more, fill them with anything you have, use the Inhaler until your slots are empty, fill them again with something else, rince, repeat and the Achievement will pop

I recommend using the Achievement Tracker for this even though it's quite glitched with this game (stops tracking and requires to restart the game).

I didn't notice an issue with the tracker, I just noticed that it didn't recognize the same inhalers that I'd used before. At least, that's what I think was happening.

If you have a lot of Raptidon Meat you can get this pretty easy or at least more %.

Such a dumb achievement. Thanks for the tips. Adapted them to my save and worked a treat.

In this video guide I will show you a way to use the medical inhaler 300 times. This is the way I would recommend for players wanting to get this achievement without all the extra saving and reloading. Try to make a habit of going to the vendors every time you come back to a town or location that has a vendor throughout the game. If you keep on buying them when playing the game, and if you keep looting everywhere. You will definitely have enough by the end of the game. Once you have saved up 300, make a manual save. Then keep using them until the achievement pops. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes, even if you are starting from scratch.

In case anyone was wondering how to do this without the reload/save tricks.

I'm still on my first playthrough and at about 175 inhalers used I think?

The reason I have used so many is because I accepted the FLAW/PERK from using my inhaler. It was offered to me rather early on, still on intro parts of game I think.

The flaw requires you to use the inhaler every now and then or you go through withdrawls/dependency and get a debuff, or something like that.

So I figure I should have the achievement somewhat naturally instead of having to reload/save.

I managed to complete supernova with about 150 inhalers used.

Prior to the last mission you are encouraged to make a manual save.

Save here then after completing you can use up all the inhalers you have left, I had in excess of 200 so the game gives you plenty more than necessary without having to buy more.

The achievement unlocks the 300th time you use the inhaler by pressing cn_LB. For convenience, turn on the achievement tracker. Designate this achievement as a favorite so you can track its progress. The first slot in the inhaler is reserved for Adreno as the default healer. Even if you never buy it, many hundreds of Adreno units can be found throughout the game.

Note that, if you are going to play more than one game, the achievement tracks across multiple games. It is very probable that you will not need to heal 300 times during normal game play. If so, you may want to grind it. With the achievement tracker on, make a save. This is Save A. Press cn_LB repeatedly until you exhaust your supply of Adreno. Make a second save (Save B) to update the system file and ensure your progress is recorded. Reload Save A and, once again, exhaust your supply of Adreno. Save. You can overwrite Save B since its only purpose is to update the system save file. Continue this process, monitoring the tracker as you do so, until the achievement pops.

Be aware that frequent use of the inhaler may trigger the drug addiction flaw. You do not have to accept it. If you do, it is one of the flaws that counts towards the following:
The Outer WorldsFlawed HeroThe Flawed Hero achievement in The Outer Worlds worth 33 pointsAcquire 3 flaws.

With this in mind, you may want to grind for this achievement in conjunction with working towards the Flawed Hero Achievement.

Your inhaler uses Adreno by default, and you can slot in extra things for additional effects outside of the basic healing. Regardless of what is inside the pipe, hit that inhaler 300 times for this achievement. It tracks over multiple save files, so you can huff all your Adreno in succession and save in a new slot, then reload the old one to do it all over again if you want to boost it quickly. However, it'll come naturally most likely between your two playthroughs.

This can be done with any consumable, doesn't have to be health based. Just keep loading up your medical slots for the inhaler and using it until you run out, find more from a vendor and then repeat it.

I actually did this naturally on my hard playthrough. It obliterates your health on that mode so you should always have at least 40+ in your inventory anyway.

Accumulate many syringes, save manually, use all of them, load the save, and make this process until the trophy appears

I did on xbox, and the process on ps4 is the same

Doesn't work, I tried it yesterday, when you reload your save it resets the counter.

In fact, it is rarely useful, even on high difficulty, so I recommend “breathing” whenever possible.

Save, use all your first aid kits, load and repeat until the trophy drops.

Loading does not work, you need to exhale really different 300 inhalers.

I don't see any point in boosting. If you clear all the corners, it will fall out before the finish line.
As a last resort, vending machines always sell around 8-12 pieces. and is restored during the transition between planets.

At a difficult level of difficulty, by the end of the game I collected about 350 pieces, rummaging all the corners; in fact, I used less than 100 at that time, I had to persistently poke

We buy more adreno, then create a separate save
We use all Adreno to 0 And again create a separate save to save progress
Then we load into our 1st save and do everything the same, saving at the same time to update progress
