The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition

The achievement unlocks after the 30th hit to a humanoid enemy's groin with either a ranged or melee weapon while in tactical time dilation (TTD). You must have unlocked, "Unlocks TTD location hit effect" for the weapon you are using. TTD location hit effect unlocks at level 20 for ranged weapons and level 40 for melee weapons. This allows the weapon used to target the groin.

For a hit to count, enter TTD () and target the enemy's crotch. When the caption, "weaken" appears; you have correctly targeted the groin. Execute the hit by pressing . Each hit to the groin (to the same or different enemy), while TTD is in effect, counts towards the achievement. The achievement pops on the 30th hit.

Note that the TTD location hit effect is unlocked according to the skill level before bonuses are applied. To check, bring up the character screen and tab to the skills page. Highlight the weapon. Base skill unlocks will appear on the right hand side. Each active skill unlock will be highlighted and have a filled-in radio button to its left. For example, if handguns are at level 20 or better, the novice skill effect will be highlighted and the radio button filled in. In contrast, if one-handed melee weapons are below level 40, the competent skill level will be greyed out and the radio button to the left will be empty.

When you target an enemy's crotch, after you have unlocked TTD location hit effect for the weapon you are using, you may see the weaken caption below the targeting reticle or another status effect like maim, stagger, cripple, etc. Some imprecision is permitted but to ensure the groin is precisely targeted look for the weaken caption. The hit may still count if stagger, for example, is shown as the status effect.

To ensure your hits are counting, turn on the Series S|X achievement tracker. Designate this achievement as a favorite so you can track its progress. You'll note that you will get credit for many hits in the vicinity of the groin even when the reticle is slightly off. You can even get credit for hits to the side and the back just below waste level. This means an automatic rifle is likely to give you multiple hits even when the aim veers off target. Nevertheless, note that the weaken status effect is the most precise and will guarantee a hit.

If you are in the habit of using TTD, the achievement will pop during normal game play once you have leveled your weapon skills to where location hit effect is unlocked. The fact that some imprecision is allowed increases the likelihood that random hits will strike the groin and count towards the achievement.

The game's system save file keeps track of hits. So every hit to the groin counts even when you reload an earlier save file. If you want to grind the achievement early, an easy location is just north of Edgewater. Enter the town and exit by the NW exit (to the right of the workbench) to bank an auto-save. Conversely, if you are playing on a difficulty other than supernova, you can make a manual save closer to the enemies you intend to target.

For convenience, use the console's tracking feature to monitor progress toward the achievement. There will be 3 marauders just up the road. Approach them until you can target the groin with the weapon you are using. Enter TTD & get as many hits to the groin that you can during the interval. Reload the previous auto-save you made when you exited town (or manual save if applicable). Repeat the process until the achievement pops.

Players of The Outer Worlds reported that the equivalent achievement in the older game could be unlocked by shooting a dead body's crotch while in TTD. For me, this exploit did not work in this newer version of the game. Please make a note in the comments if you have success with a dead body.
