The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition

The achievement unlocks when you obtain the three science weapons available in the Peril on Gorgon questline. The three weapons do not all have to be in your possession at the same time. The requirement is that you pick up each of the three weapons when you encounter them. You may pick them up in any order. They are:

Special Delivery: Near the Gorgon Landing Pad, talk to Khaleel Chakroun, a vendor who runs Khaleel’s Survival Goods. Exhaust his dialog to learn about Charles from Accounting. Look at your Gorgon map. From Khaleel, go right, following the darker terrain until you get to the OCI Exterior. Outside the facility with your back to the entrance, take the first right and discover the Worker’s Domiciles on your map.

Fight or sneak by the enemies until you reach the Marauder Camp at the bottom right of the Gorgon map. Defeat the enemies noting Charles from Accounting in the center of the area. He is distinguished by the Defaced Moonman Helmet he wears, a special (but not unique) helmet you can loot from his body (Intimidate +10, Lie +5). When you loot his body, make sure to pick up the Special Delivery science weapon. If you fail to pick it up when you kill him, it may not be available when you return to his corpse.

Note: It is quite possible to sneak behind Charles and pickpocket him for the weapon. If all enemies are unalerted, there is plenty of cover to hide your presence and obtain the weapon through stealth.

Note that this is the same area where you find Lucky Montoya's body for the Lucky Stiff achievement. Next to him is an audio log, Lucky's Notes: Smoke and Mirrors. It’s one of the portable phonographs required for the Good Listener achievement.

Employee Benefits: You will come across this weapon by following the main questline, in particular, The Man in High Orbit. Follow the quest marker to Dr. Low who requires you to repair the Electromechanical Turbine before he’ll agree to help you.

With the access card he gives you, open the door, climb the stairs, and take the elevator to the top. Activate the turbine using the terminal. Kill the auto-mechanicals. When the area is clear, use the two levers designated by quest markers to effect the repair. Activate the turbine again from the terminal near the elevator.

Report your success to Dr. Low. He’ll give you an audio log with a passphrase to access the CHEM Lab—this is one of the portable phonographs for the Good Listener achievement. Continue to press him for access and he’ll give you the CHEM Lab Security Pass. As a reward, he gives you the special handgun, Employee Benefits.

Note: You can also kill Dr. Low and loot his body or pickpocket him. However, the cleanest option is to follow the dialog and obtain all the rewards. If, after you have exhausted all dialog options and obtained everything you need, you feel Dr. Low does not deserve to live; feel free to eradicate him.

The P.E.T.: This weapon is found in The Secret Hideout. It is associated with an involved side quest if you do it legitimately. The quest, A Dialog Between Dead Men, requires you to find issues #1 through #4 of the comic The Exhilarating Adventures of Archibald Excelsior. They provide the answers to get the passphrase to open the secret hideout where the weapon is located. However, if you can pass a hack skill check of 150, you can enter without the passphrase, but you forfeit the opportunity to get some XP from a side quest. Taking Vicar Max and SAM in your party will give a substantial boost to your hacking skill as will wearing armor and helmet that provide hacking bonuses.

You won’t need the comics because I’ll give you the answers in this guide. However, if you want to do it legitimately, the location of the comics are as follows:

• The Exhilarating Adventures of Archibald Excelsior, Issue 1: Maurice’s Research Site
• The Exhilarating Adventures of Archibald Excelsior, Issue 2: Virgil’s Research Site
• The Exhilarating Adventures of Archibald Excelsior, Issue 3: Birdie’s Research Site
• The Exhilarating Adventures of Archibald Excelsior, Issue 4: Eustace’s Research Site

Chances are you may have run across all four during your explorations. If not, they can be picked up during the upcoming side quest.

Go to the Security Checkpoint on the map. This is a location you discovered en route to the CHEM Lab (across the bridge down from the Transmission Tower Alpha). Take the elevator down. Turn right and kill a few enemies. (Turning left leads to the CHEM Lab.) Discover the Fossil location on your map but run by it without talking to anyone. Right after this location, you’ll see a pathway through the rocks to your left. Its entrance will be lit up making it fairly easy to spot. Enter and keep to your right. Just before a bridge, there are steps to the left. Go up them.

You’ll discover the Secret Hideout location on your map. Read messages on the terminal to unlock the A Dialog Between Dead Men side quest. Select, Enter “True Fan” Passphrase. You can enter the hideout with a hack option instead of the passphrase if you can pass a hack skill check of 150 but you'll miss out on some side quest XP. For the purposes of the achievement, you just need to enter the hideout and pick up the P.E.T. However, to gain the maximum points available from the side quest, proceed as follows:

• Discover the Secret Hideout
• Access the terminal to initiate A Dialog Between Dead Men
• Follow the quest markers to discover the locations of the comic books. (The locations are also listed above)
• Read the comic books from your inventory to get answers to the questions on the terminal. (The answers are also listed below)
• Answer the terminal questions correctly to input the passphrase that allows you to enter
• A Dialog Between Dead Men concludes and you receive full XP. Note that picking up the P.E.T. once inside, though required as part of this achievement, is not associated with the side quest

The four comic books listed above each have a part of the passphrase. You can read the comic books by going into inventory and tabbing to quest items. Highlight the issue to read it. Right stick click () to inspect it in more detail. For convenience, the answer to each issue's question is listed below. If you want to do it legitimately, the quest marker for the A Dialog Between Dead Men side quest will take you to any issue you have not yet picked up.

1. Issue #1: Sissak Sassafrass, Spindle Knight of Olympus!
2. Issue #2: The skull of King Alpha's own mother!
3. Issue #3: Tricking Archibald with his dastardly Mind Control Ray!
4. Issue #4: With a bolt of lightning from above!

Pick up the weapon on the table, The P.E.T. If this is the 3rd of the 3 Peril on Gorgon science weapons you pick up, the achievement will pop. Otherwise, pick up the remaining science weapon(s) to unlock the achievement.

●Special Delivery: Kill or pickpoket the marauder "Charles from Accounting" in the Marauder Stronghold (bottom right of the map). The weapon can be found in his body.
●P.E.T.: Interact with a terminal near the Office of Creative Incubation (OCI) to start the following side quest - A dialogue between dead men. Once you collect all the clues you will have to answer 4 questions in the terminal to unlock the Secret Society Hideout. The answers are: 1. Spindle knight of Olympic 2. Using his own mother 3. Mind control Ray 4.Lightning from above
You now can collect the science weapon in the Hideout next to the terminal.
