How to unlock the The Mystery's Afoot achievement in The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition - Definitive Guide
When you talk to ADA and choose, “You mentioned an aetherwave drama? I’d like to see it,” the achievement pops after you conclude the conversation following a viewing of the video. When you gain access to the Stellar Bay landing pad, ADA mentions that she has a drama ready to watch. A new main quest will appear in the journal, No Night Without Stars. This quest triggers the dialog option with ADA regarding the aetherwave drama and begins the Murder on Eridanos questline.
The game recommends you be level 30 for the questline. Nevertheless, if you are playing on Story or Normal modes, it is not challenging even if you are well below that level. Unless you are playing on supernova, by the time you reach Stellar Bay, you should have the wherewithal to cope with the questline.
At any rate, you can start the questline and, if at any point you feel under-leveled, you can leave it for the time being and return later when you are better prepared. Note that there is very little serious combat until late in the questline. The quests you complete prior to that point provide generous XP rewards so you will level up several times before the combat intense segment.
One can play the questline at any time after landing in Stellar Bay. You can even do it after finishing a playthrough. When you reach the point of no return, the game creates a special system save file. You can finish the game’s story and, afterwards, load up the system save file, and proceed from there to the questline.
Whether you choose to play Murder on Eridanos early, wait until you have finished a playthrough, or any point in between; when you are ready to tackle the questline, open your Journal and select the main quest No Night Without Stars. Talk to ADA and choose, “You mentioned an aetherwave drama? I’d like to see it.”
You view an interesting film-noir video with a surprising conclusion. Afterwards, you receive a communication from the authorities on Eridanos. They extend an invitation to Eridanos along with a job offer. Exhaust the conversational choices and agree to investigate the murder. This pops the achievement.
