How to unlock the Allied Savior achievement in The Outfit - Definitive Guide

I was not helped very much by x360a's (now XA's) achievement guide, and for once, the TA guide is not very helpful either, so I thought I would fill some of the gaps.

Shortly beyond the Radio Tower capture point, about midway through Mission 8, the medal opportunity will automatically appear. After it does, make a savestate so you can restart in case this secondary objective is failed.

The requirement is to pass the next section without losing FU points, which are the game's resources, and more importantly, without letting all of the Allied anti-tank employments get destroyed, which also wastes resources. These will update at the bottom of your screen as they are destroyed.

To make this much easier, there is a rocket tank you can commandeer for free near the Radio Tower, close to where you first come across the Radio Tower capture point. It has a large set of rockets on the top of it that launches rapidly, making the tanks in the next section much easier to destroy.

Keep firing from the upper ridge near the Allied anti-tank employments at the Axis tanks and other forces below. Tanks will keep coming from the left in the far distance (from the perspective of the top of the ridge, looking down). Destroy the tanks quickly, to avoid more of your employments from being blown up. After dozens of tanks, which thankfully only come one or two at a time, a notification will tell you about a Panther tank being the last Axis force to destroy.

Spray the tank down like the others with your rockets, with RT, and after the Panther explodes, and the enemies below are all dead, the achievement should unlock, and the notification in the center of your screen showing what you've accomplished and the medal you've earned should appear.

I personally thought there was not enough done. Having been a user of XA and TA for about 6 years, although only just recently a TA member, I found that the guides were just lacking compared to your average game's exorbitant amount of information.

It may be seen as over-the-top, but I just thought that the game could use the extra information, on TA directly too, as opposed to having to dig on GameFAQs or XA's forums.

Too much information is better than too little, right? smile

I made guides pointing at XA which tell you the location of each achievement mission wise. When running through the game that was enough for me to figure out the rest which wasn't too bad. They even tell you the location of where the objectives are, idk what more people need, but what ever.

So this game went on sale this past week as a backwards compatibility sale. I had never heard of it before so I picked it up. I downloaded a digital copy from the XBox Store.

When I attempted this achievement I discovered a few things. I was attempting to beat the game on hard difficulty just because. On hard difficulty with the digital copy at least the tanks never stopped spawning. I played this part of this mission for like 3 hours and destroyed over 300 tanks and they were still spawning (I finished the mission and checked out my stats). It appears to be a programming glitch or by design, but I'm pretty sure it's a glitch.

Now I can't be sure this will happen to everyone either. Perhaps I triggered some weird glitch by the way I played the mission or whatever, but I thought it worth mentioning in case anyone else picked this game up during the latest sale. When I went back and played this on easy difficulty I destroyed like 5 tanks and then the Panther spawned and I destroyed it to pop the achievement so it's nowhere near the dozens this guide claims it to be. Just saying.

Also I don't what this guide means by you can't lose FU points. You can and I would encourage you highly to use your points and build many anti-tank emplacements. It goes by quickly. But since so few tanks are actually needed to be destroyed then you really don't need them.

When going through this game which I am highly recommending doing is using the Xbox Achievements road map made by CienPR, when you hit each level of the story just hit CTRL+F on the page and type the Mission you are on, and you will find the achievements you need to look out for and how to do them on each mission. There is about 2 each mission, and there aren't any videos which I would be posting if I could find some, but I guess this game isn't popular enough.

Again credit goes to CienPR, good luck and have fun toast

After the radio tower, on level 8, you will see a big open space. A bunch of tanks will come from the east and you will need to destroy them all. Set up a bunch of defenses and bring the rocket tank, as this will make things a lot easier.
