If you're struggling with this achievement here is how I managed to get it after 3 attempts.
Make sure you pick the fasted sprinting Hero as the extra speed will give you a boost.
There are 3 AA guns located at your camp. The Walkthrough says to grab the first AA gun. Don't do that!
Instead place infantry at the first and second guns closest to your spawn point. YOU get in the third AA gun located on the far right near the front lines. If you place CPUs in the front 2 guns they will spend all their time shooting infantry instead of planes.
Using this setup should help you take down any enemy planes that get close to your base.

If you're still having trouble. Try and memorize the patterns the planes spawn in. Though I think its a little random. Another helpful tip: with CPUs in the back and one located on the left side I didn't worry at all about covering the left side with my AA guns. I just shot at the planes up in front.

i agree with picking the front right one. I also believe this gives a better advantage with the distance draw or spawn of the planes?

At the beginning of level 9, you will see some gun emplacements. Get on an anti-aircraft gun and protect the emplacements from the enemy aircraft.

After trying multiple times using the current guide, I just could not get this achievement using the recommended method of taking over the right AA gun and reinforcing the other two. The planes appear randomly, I can confirm this, and in seemingly random numbers. Sometimes it will be one plane, sometimes it will be four planes, and they often fire just after spawning.
Eventually, I came up with my own method that worked without needing to restart once.
Play as JD to sprint more, then rush to the armory and capture it. Then, using what little money you have, reinforce all 3 of the AA guns and spawn a fourth one further back and man it. Then, start spawning more AA guns, whenever you have the FU to do it, spawn one, especially between waves as there is a short break in between. By the time you get to seeing four planes spawning at once, you should also be seeing them instantly explode after spawning.
