How to unlock the Skyline cake achievement in The Pedestrian - Definitive Guide

Normally you can't miss the achievement if you follow the hints and yellow notes of the developers. However, it can happen that you accidentally or intentionally skip the section and thus "miss" the achievement.

Here is screenshot from the location - https://imgur.com/SvetAo9
Normally you have to get both cubes to use the elevator, but you can use one cube as a platform and if you do this and don't get both cubes, you "miss" the achievement which is located if you enter the puzzle for the left cube. (55:04 in the video guide below)

You can always get the achievement via chapter select (Rooftop)

I have created a full game walkthrough for the game if you are interested in it or stuck at any puzzle section.

Walkthrough facts:
- All Puzzles
- All Secret rooms
- No Speed ups
- No annoying commentary
- No Try and Error
- Easiest solutions without much movement
- Hardly any video cuts (under 10 in the whole video and most are very well hidden)

Completely agree with you Zasta. Thanks for the additional info.
I usually check the achievements list, look at the missable ones and keep those in the back of my head while playing the game. I always saw the missable flag as a warning "no chapter select in this game, if you miss out on this one you have to start a whole new game and spend more hours in the game then intended" (or miss out on it completely)

Maybe just a tiny criticism, start achievement guides with what is required for the specific achievement. Something like: for this achievement you have to complete chapter x, I made a complete walkthrough, at tt:tt you can find said chapter.

Anyway if you do that or not is up to you, you already have my upvote for providing the info on the "missable" and I will use your walkthrough if I get stuck. Thanks for sharing toast

That's why this is marked missible, right? How about at least saying what each entails? Pasting a vid and expecting us to watch that instead of offering a guide is silly. This is not helpful at all.

If you play the game normal it is not missable and the video shows you how to get the achievement. Which "guide" you want for this achievement?

If you are wondering why this is missable here is a copy/paste from the TA-forum.
I guess the location would be 56:27 in the walkthrough, but it's just me guessing.

When the player is trying to get a wire out of a room, they are tasked with getting two blocks to reach the wire. By jumping on top of a single box and pressing the switch it is possible to launch yourself up and skip getting both. This means if you don't go grab the left box you could miss the achievement without locking out progression in the game overall. While it is fairly simple to get back to it using the chapter selector, it is still possible to miss through fairly regular or reasonable gameplay.

As I wrote in forum, you can skip a lot of passages even nearly the entire game if you want this. On screen there are enough notice and clues what you have to do. If you decide to ignore these things of course achievements are missable but at which point start the term "missable". If you play the game normal as the developer want AND show you in the game, no achievement is missable.

I came to upvote this guide and downvote the other guide which was sitting as the recommended guide, only to see other guide has been taken out haha - other guide was wrong stating secret rooms were needed, but they're not :)

Downvoted. You don't list it on here and you don't say anything in the video. I don't see the achievement pop in your walkthrough either. It's not helpful at all

"It's not helpful at all" - Walkthrough show the entire game with all puzzles in the shortest way. Why you need a voice? Absolutely not necessary.

Because what you and some others don't seem to understand, is that people come here to single achievement guides for that particular achievement. They want to know WHERE this 1 achievement is, what you need to do to get this ONE achievement. You posted a video for the entire game and you don't say anything at all. That's not why people are clicking here. Post a full walkthrough or something if you want to do ALL the achievements. I clicked your video and thought it was in the secret room with the hat exchange. It wasn't clear no matter how much you think it is. Planting42 said that in his earlier comments, which you also ignored.

The pictures are there and working, maybe your ad / scriptblocker blocks the website.

*Potentially not story related*

For all intents and purposes, this achievement is story related and will unlock during the skyline section of levels. However, it is technically possible to proceed and complete the game without unlocking this achievement, but only if you use some trickery to get through this part of the game without getting a box that the game intends you to get. So, if you're playing the game normally, going into each door in each section to get the items on the yellow sticky notes throughout the game, you won't miss this achievement.

More specifically, during the skyline section when you're collecting the parts for the device, you'll head to the right to find the wire item. When you head right, you'll come to the screen shown in the image below.

Here, the game intends for you to go to the left door to get one block, and to the right door to get a second block. Walking through the left door to that level is what unlocks this achievement.

It's technically possible to get to the top of the screen with just a single block if you're creative, and you could therefore skip the left level entirely and just go to the right to get that block. That is why this achievement is flagged. But again, if you're playing like normal or following a video guide, you will be going into that left level and unlocking this achievement.

If you do somehow manage to skip this achievement, you can get it after you complete the game using chapter select. When a new game starts, pause and scroll to the rightmost tab (picture of a book). From here, choose the seventh arrow (which is actually a picture of the same section in the image above) to replay the skyline section. You'll have to complete a few puzzles to get to the point above though.
