The first Art Scroll you can find is in the direction of Tome Tower. The page with the rats wearing hats and goblins will have two bodies of water, and you'll find this one nestled amongst the bushes of the top lake. If you would rather come across it another way, Martina offers one for 20 currency (the lightbulbs). You can find her on the way to Tome Tower as well, behind the gate that you need to fix the sentence of.

The first scroll you can pick up is about 5-10 minutes after stating the game.
When you’ve defeated the Honey Badger, you’ll have a conversation with MoonBeard about heading to Tome Tower and be joined by Voilet.
When you’ve regained control of Jot, head right past the sign for ‘Tome Tower’ on to the next page. As you walk to the right you may spot the scroll bobbing up and down, hidden behind some bushes, between a tree and a pond, at the top of the screen/page.
As you move right across the page you’ll see the words ‘AND SO THE PLUCKY SQUIRE SET OFF TO TOME TOWER’. The scroll is behind the tree/bushes just to the right of the word ‘TOWER’.
If you miss this one, you can actually purchase your first scroll for 20 ‘lightbulbs’ (the in game currency) from Martina (the shop with a bow on her head) on the very next page (make sure you defeat the enemies, cut down the bushes and hit the trees to get lightbulbs).
