How to unlock the Book Worm achievement in The Riftbreaker - Definitive Guide
This came for me while playing the campaign at about 'Day 30' but could be attained much quicker I'm sure.
I do not believe survival is an effective place to attain this achievement. So stick to the campaign.
You'll eventually reach a point where you need to build a research center and laboratory to discover and research the nearby flora and fauna. You'll start noticing on screen tooltips reading "New Species Discovered" which is the step in the right direction for this achievement.
One you learn how to Rift jump and unlock the "Bioscanner", you'll be able to get this achievement with ease. The Bioscanner is a suit upgrade that you can use Middle Mouse Click or + (if youre on console/controller) to scan green outlined species to learn more about them. Spending some time on a different part of the planet or even near your base scanning things will start triggering a bunch of new entries.
An important note about this too. The achievement says "read" because simply unlocking them will not be enough to set off the achievement. You need to flip through the gold starred entries, subsequently marking them as read. Be sure to view the variants (the portraits under the main entry) and is should come quickly.
Other notes, I don't think its even close to 75%. Maybe like 50% because I had a ton I hadn't seen yet when I unlocked this with familiarity around 1-2 with each species.
This is a lengthy type up for a relatively passive and easy achievement. Let me know if I missed something before disliking.

I also agree, it didn't feel like 75% either. It also popped when I turned the game on, rather than when it should have unlocked.
Just in case anyone else is wondering, as I did, you don't have to "read" so much as click. When I noticed descriptions appear after improving research on species, i assumed this is what it meant by read, that you need to get all the descriptions. You don't. Just get the most basic, wordless data entry and click on it. Several species have variants you need to click on too.
