Speed this up by building all 5 Communication Hubs Level 5 (they cost 500 energy per second so you’ll need a big economy). There’s 3 trees and Weapons and Equipment have the quickest research (download) times. Alien is the slowest and Base and Buildings I found the most useful.

Anyway, once you get the last download I’m any tree this’ll pop. I did this relatively early in campaign.

To get this done faster, create as many communication hubs as possible, based on your barracks level.

Don't do as I did, getting the entire game with just one communication hub.
