How to unlock the Walk in the Park achievement in The Riftbreaker - Definitive Guide

So I’m posting this in Going Green and also in Walk in the Park.

(currently this achievement only unlocks in survival, not campaign.)

These two can be easily cheezed and completed in about 45 min. Just recommended that you have played through campaign first as it’s a fun game.

For the setup, chose Survival and then Custom Difficulty in the Tropical Zone.
In options for custom
Enemy damage factor 1%
Resource volume factor Pump this to 250% or higher
Research cost 5%
Building cost 1%
Building time multiplier 1%
Items dropped after death 0
Wave Interval duration 00:30:00
Game duration 00:30:00
Warmup duration 00:15:00 This can be shorter but longer is easier
Attacks per wave multiplier 1.0
Map size 4 X 4
Gravity Scale 100%
Time of day mode continuous
Enemy wave Strength Easy

When you drop in find a good place to start near some Carbonium. Build the HQ, all the harvesters and then spam those solar panels and wind farms as you’re nearly building almost for free. Protect the base with some nearly free turrets and walls. REMEMBER NO CARBONIUM POWERPLANTS.

Once you build the Laboratory research buildings first and then weapons. Main buildings are the improved harvesters, better green energy and then defenses. Only need 1-2 carbonium and 1 iron zones to harvest as you’ll only be using it to develop your own weapons.

Heads up with upgraded buildings! If you hold down cn_LT as you build them, then they can be built to the highest level available. Considerably faster than building lv 1 and then upgrading to lv 3.

I preferred the Minigun and Power Fist as the Minigun tears up at high ammo cost for range and the Power Fist can Stun and regenerates damage. Upgrades get the Reflective Armor and Titanium Machinery to move faster,

Skill setup I used was Instant Repair, Small Mine, Gravity Mine, Grenade, Radar Pulse, Emergency Explosion, Sentry Gun and Nuclear Mine. Swap out the mines and Grenades for your preferred play style.

Build up plenty of Defenses, have a Geothermal plant if you want, double up on repair towers near the corners and main buildings, get plenty of Tower Ammo and prepare for the horde at 30 min as it’s slightly less intense than the attacking horde you experience in the campaign. After the timers run down and if your base survives you’ll complete it and get the 2 achievements at the same time.

A warning about ALL achievements in the game - There's a bug that prevents game from registering ANY achievment if you resume it using quick resume. Restart the game to get these!

That horde is trivial compared to campaign. I found a nearby Cobalt deposit when landing, made my base near enough to start harvesting that. Cobalt gets you most towers to level 2. Since you can use the upgrade tool to just cursor over everything and upgrade for cheap (or wait until it’s researched to build most of it as most research takes 1-15 seconds on those settings) it’s pretty easy to have a base that just shrugs off the enemies. Anyway, great guide, I’d never tried being that aggressive with the settings, made my last two achievements a cinch!

This really felt like really hard to beat at first,
But finally did it on survival mode.

Adjust the difficulty as per your linking. For me it helped the most to increase the period between attacks to 20 minutes and the rift time to 3:00. you may do it faster though.this way I was able to recover from the attacks easily and rebuild the base as needed.

It helped a lot to build a lot of walls as the swarm stays busy to destroy the walls instead of heading to the HQ. Have some long range turrets (artillery mostly) ready to fight them back.
Make sure you have enough ammo depots and factories to priories new ammo for the longer lasting fights.

The final fight is really hard, it was a close call in the end.

So in short:
- 20+minutes between attacks
- build a lot of walls
- have enough ammo for your stronger turrets

This should get you going

Despite the description this wouldn't unlock for me in the campaign, only in survival mode.

Yeah I tried both campaign endings and it didn’t work for me either. It seems bugged for campaign.

Saved before activating the portal home. Completed and watched credits three times - hasn't popped on Campaign. Trying survival next.

Try not taking the portal and letting it collapse. You get new dialog and a new skin for Mr. Riggs.

Can you complete the Survival by setting the Game Duration to Infinite?

After opting not to take the portal, the crazy scientist lady mentions her "own objectives" that involve gathering a sample of every creature and creating a sustainable economy without mines. While these objectives don't appear in any menu, has anyone tried completing these objectives to complete the campaign?

After 2 completions of the campaign it did not start to count.
