How to unlock the Heavenly Score achievement in The Simpsons Game - Definitive Guide
The main problem I had with this achievement was trying to hit diagonal on the d-pad as the d-pad's on xbox controllers are complete rubbish.
The way round it is never try to hit a diagonal, only ever hit left, right, up or down.
When 2 come down really close to each other (where you are supposed to hit diagonal on the d-pad) you actually have enough time to just hit them individually ie. instead of bottom left diagonal, just hit left then down really quickly, this way you still hit both characters that are coming down but just one after the other really quickly.
Also when I say really quickly, it's a lot easier than it sounds. Try it. I got it first time when I tried it this way.

I can back this solution up 100% - never hit a diagonal and got it the third time I tried. The first wave is very easy, the second wave has only two instances of close together button pushing - memorise which two directions you have to push, and youll be fine.
Similarly, the third wave has only a couple of instances of close together button pushing, but is a bit quicker. Memorise the patterns and order of buttons and you should be fine.
Have a couple of practice runthroughs to learn the patterns, and then on the third or fourth runthrough go for it.

Works like a charm.

As all the other solutions mention, the Xbox controller D-pad is crap. I paused the game, turned off my controller, and plugged in a Rock Band guitar to use its d-pad. Worked like a charm-got it the first try.

Unreal. I was reading through these and wondering if someone was gonna suggest the guitar hero guitar, I tried using the Scene It controllers, but no luck.
Only recently bought GH, so never thought to use it when I first played thru the Simpsons game. I'll try this out. Thanks for the tip :-)

I personally found the drum set's d-pad to work better ... I couldn't do this part of the game any other way.

This is where you play DDR against God. All this really requires is timing and patience. If you miss a step, simply die and retry. Eventually you'll memorize the pattern and get this.
Try NOT to use the Xbox 360 controller for this achievement. Using its ridiculously bad D-pad is an exercise in futility. The design of the D-pad is so wretched that it stretches what normally should be a two-minute task into something much longer and tedious, through no fault of your own.
If, however, you don't have anything else to use (guitar controllers, fighting/arcade sticks, hell, even actual DDR mats are better than the 360's D-pad), and you're stuck with the stock controller, here are some tips:
1) Do NOT make diagonal presses. Make sure to press down on the edge of the direction you want. It's raised, so it'll give you less of a chance of hitting another direction at the same time.
2) Use both both your thumbs if you must.
3) The only time you'll need to hit two directions is for LEFT and UP. And instead of trying to hit two directions at the same time, hit them one after another.
4) Use your health bar (awkwardly placed at the bottom of the screen) as a gauge for mistakes.
Hope that helps. If you're stubborn like me, you'll end up wanting to beat it WITH the D-pad, so you'll have memorized the placement by the time you actually get the achievement.

An easy way to do this achievement is by getting together two friends and picking a side each. You do 2, the other friend does 2, and when the icky diagonals come you just have to do one each.
If you only have one player, just try pressing indivdidual buttons super fast including when it's diagonal just press the buttons really fast individually. It's quite easy this way.
If you think you missed one, I would restart just in case.

You get this achievement by getting a perfect score in DDR against God which means you cant you miss any enemies or you press a button when there is no enemy there, as that counts as a miss.
This achievement can be really rather frustrating, as the X-box D-Pad is really rather poorly designed..
A good tip to do this if you are having trouble is to hit the very tip of the direction you want. If your still having trouble (like I was) the best way is to get a friend and then you can do the 2 on the left, and your friend can do the 2 on the right (or the other way around) and then just memorize the pattern they come in, watch the health bar in between gaps, and just spam buttons if you miss and it will go back to the start of wave 1 and you can try again. Good luck!

if you have the streetfighter game pad the D-pad is fantastic. Got this Achievement on the first try
the only tricky part is when youll have to hit up and left on the dpad at the same time. you will have to do this twice in round two and two more times in the third round, so just be ready for that.
