How to unlock the Happiness... It Stacks achievement in The Sims 3 - Definitive Guide
[start quote] "Moodlets are mood altering events or situations that a Sim has done or experienced. These moodlets may be positive, negative, or neutral. Some moodlets happen for an indefinite amount of time whil e others are timed. Some moodlets lead directly from one to the next, such as "Strained" leading to "Stressed Out", or "Sleepy" leading to "Tired" then "Exhausted", but all other moodlets are not mutually exclusive and so a Sim can have "Vile Surroundings" and "Beautifully Decorated" at the same time, or multiple instances of "It's a Boy!" or "It's a Girl!".
Moodlets that do not specify a time only end when certain events occur, such as leaving the area that gives the moodlet.
Moodlets may also have secondary effects, such as improving skill gain, making it easier to burn to death, or making a Sim fatter when they eat, or to drown when swimming, to name a few.
Clicking on negative or neutral moodlets will add the appropriate action to the bar. For example, clicking the smelly moodlet will make the Sim take a bath or shower, clicking the sleepy moodlet will make the Sim go to sleep, etc." [end quote]
Just to add to the above, you can use the Karma Power: 'Good Times' to remove all negative moodlets that are currently affecting the selected sim.
With a possible 293 moodlets available, to save space in this solution, i have posted a link below which lists all the possible moodlets, how each one is aquired and what effects each moodlet adds (if any).

Grant your Sim a wish (any will do, mine wanted to clean the house. This grants the Fulfilled moodlet)
Have a bath (Squeaky Clean moodlet)
Make yourself dinner (Full moodlet) (if you've got a higher cooking skill this is better, more chance of a Good Meal moodlet as well)
Finally I went outside and played Guitar - this gives the Great Outdoors moodlet and once they're having enough fun, the 5th positive moodlet and achievement will pop)
Also depends on which traits your Sim has, different traits mean different ways of achieving happiness. Spend a few days with your Sim and figure out what makes them happy.
This is one of those trophies that you'll most likely earn without even trying to go for it. Moodlets are status effects that are placed on your sim. They can either effect your sim positively or negatively. You can check your moodlets by pressing until you get to the moodlet tab. At that tab you can check how many moodlets you currently have and how long each one lasts. The following is a link to a site that shows all the moodlets in the game.

You shouldn't need to worry about this trophy but you will definitely get this at some point before you get most of the other trophies but if you're in a rush to get it then I suggest you go to the day spa. Pick the option "package" because it includes everything and each different part to the day spa gives you a unique moodlet. Once you're out of the day spa you should have all 5 but if you don't then drive home and sit in a chair. Sitting in a comfy chair or on the couch will give you another moodlet and giving you more than enough moodlets at one time for this trophy.
There are 6 moodlets that affect you Sim's mood which are:
Hunger - Eat to keep this up
Social - Talk to Sims by phone, computer, and in person to keep this up
Bladder - Go to the toilet to keep this up
Hygiene - Have a bath or shower to keep this up
Energy - Go to sleep or drink coffee to keep this up
Fun - Play a game, watch TV, and do other fun activities to keep this up
You need 5/6 moodlets to be in the green to get this. This is really easy and should be one of the first achievements you unlock. If you purchase "Steel bladder" with lifetime reward points you will never need the toilet ever again. Also you can purchase "Dirt defiant" and "Hardly hungry" which makes you less hungry and more hygienic for longer.
