No option for Backyard either. Have the tv/radio max upgraded in every aspect and have listened/watched everything multiple times. Shit guide is shit.

I written this guide based on personal experience, i did what i had to do then wrote what i did. if you don't like the guide that's fine but i'm not going to sit here and hold your hand/

I also have the deluxe version of Sims 4 i'm not sure if Backyard channel factors into that but if you follow the guide, you should get it. don't blame me for the games shortcomings for not giving you the achievement.

You can buy parts using your computer, you can buy any component you need.
It's located in the "ORDER" Menu Option on the Web.

Twice I have watched all channels on the TV and listen to all stations on the radio and neither time the achievement would pop. I even tried to watch TV with no music on and to listen to the radio with no TV on. Still nothing

Be sure to change channel and then use the LISTEN TO option to force your sim to listen to that station. Should see radio speakers populate into your action HUD on the bottom left of your screen. Took me quite awhile to unlock this achievement.

This achievement is very inconsistent.

I didn't unlock it after listening to every radio station and watching every tv station twice, then it unlocked while I was dancing next to the radio and changing the stations without using the 'Listen To' option.

If your unable to get it. Try dancing. I swear I did every station and channel 3 times. restarted xbox for safe measures then danced and popped.

Listened to everything once. Took the advice from prior comments and danced while switching to the different channels and it popped for me.

OP is right, you need the listen option. First switch to the channel and then listen to the channel. Worked for me when ive done that.

I unlocked it, but it was glitchy. I tried to listen to all radio, but didn't work for me. Then I saved exited the game, loaded and danced and listen to another channel on the radio. Its unlocked.

You must use the “listen to…” option for it to work

Hello everyone

I also struggled with having this achievement pop. I can confirm the backyard station is not needed. How this ultimately popped for me is I had my sim listen to the radio station while dancing. I don't know if that is the trick but maybe that will help someone else.

This actually popped for me without using the listen to option. Just changed the channels. Not sure if that would work for others but I used listen to only two times.

Had difficulty with this one. Slow scrolled through each radio channel and clicked on 'listen to...' between changes, it finally popped near the end. I can only guess that the sim changes the channel but isn't actively listening. Hope it helps.

Dancing didn't work for me. I had to change station, select listen to for that station, flip through my others sims for a few in game minutes, and then come back and repeat.

A guide is essentially holding someone's hand, though. Guides are meant to outline what needs to be done, and exactly how to do it. If you're not willing to do that, don't make guides lol. You should remove Backyard from your guides list, as I Just got the achievement without it. Thinking it was needed prevented me from moving on and figuring out that I was missing the fireplace channel. Guides shouldn't have false information that leads to confusion. That's on youuuu

Followed a video guide that covered everything, but it wouldn't unlock for me.
I watched all the requisite TV channels and used change channel to everything on the radio in addition to channel surfing with the TV and using "Listen to....." each radio channel after first changing to that station.
Finally, I saved and exited, closed the game fully, and once I loaded back in on my autosave it popped before everything even loaded in.
Hope this helps someone.

Things needed:
A flat screen TV
One of the more expensive radios
A sim with a high handiness skill
Several electrical upgrade parts
Several common upgrade parts

The hardest part of this achievement is getting a sim with a high enough handiness skill. The sims needs to be around level 9 to be able to upgrade the TV and radio with Super Reception. You'll need the electrical parts and the common parts for the upgrades. Once both have been upgrade, have a sim sit down and start switching between all the channels and all the radio stations. I let the sim stay on each channel/station for about 5 seconds. Once the same sims has watched and listened to all the channels/stations, the achievement will pop.

The chef career offers a special channel around level 3 or 4 but I didn't need this for achievement, just the ones that are available after upgrading to Super Reception.

This trophy requires you to watch every channel and listen to every station on the radio with one sim. Unfortunately, several stations are not available initially and you must have a Sim with a high Handiness skill, as well as several electronics upgrade parts (which can be purchased on a computer if needed).

Once you have a high enough skill, you'll be able to upgrade signal reception on both the TV and the Radio. This will allow you to receive additional stations to watch/listen to. For reference, copy the list I've made below and check off each station that's watched or listened to by your sim and the trophy will pop once you do so for all of them.

TV:

Action
Comedy
Cooking
Fireplace
Kids
Music
News
Romance
Sports

MUSIC:

Alternative
Backyard
Blues
Classical
Electronica
Kids
Lullabies
Pop
Retro
Romantic

You need to make sure you have ‘The Landlord Whisperer” radio purchased, but you can use any TV for this. When you can, you’ll want to install the “Super Reception” Upgrade onto both objects. This will unlock all of the Stations and Channels.

The list of Radio Stations is as follows:

  • Alternative
  • Blues
  • Classical
  • Electronica
  • Kids Radio
  • Lullabies
  • Pop
  • Romance
  • Spooky
  • Winter Holiday
  • Retro (Unlocked after Upgrading)

The list of TV Channels is as follows:

  • Action
  • Comedy
  • Cooking Channel
  • Kids Network
  • News
  • Romance
  • Sports
  • Fireplace (Unlocked after Upgrading)
  • Music TV (Unlocked after Upgrading)

Watch/listen to them all to unlock the trophy.

One more thing. You need to watch another Sims. That is, you improve with one, and watch TV and listen to the radio with another. When I listened and watched with the same character, the trophy did not fall.

You can do everything alone, it fails every other time due to a crooked script.

The trophy came out under the following conditions: I did everything according to the instructions, then I sat 4 Sims near the TV on the sofa, forced everyone to watch it, and one of them switched channels. I watched it for 15 seconds in real time, then sped it up. Then he turned off the TV, turned on the tape recorder, forced everyone to listen to it, switched channels (radio stations) with one, and on the second wave a trophy fell out. M.b. will anyone help...

Go to the game settings and turn off autonomy. Enter shopping mode and buy the most expensive TV and audio system. Also buy a few of the cheapest TVs (three were enough for me) and place them somewhere, maybe even outside. Use a Sim with the highest mechanical skill to scrap cheap TVs for parts, then upgrade the TV and radio so you can watch and listen to everything you can. Now choose to watch each channel on your TV and simply queue them. Then select a radio station, click to listen to it, then wait 2 seconds and move on to the next station (but I got the trophy after browsing through all the channels and listening to ONE station). Watch and listen until you get the trophy.

There is no need to disassemble anything; parts for improvements can be purchased through the computer.
