How to unlock the Commitment achievement in The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe - Definitive Guide
EDIT: It looks like the achievement is currently a little buggy, the exact cause is still trying to be worked out, but it seems like the game may be running off GMT/BST for its timezone. There's also reports that the full 24 hours doesn't have to be done at once. I'll update the guide as more is found out.
To unlock this, you have to play the game for 24 real world hours over multiple Tuesdays. You can choose to do it all in one Tuesda,y or break it up over multiple weeks.
The 24 hours is cumulative, meaning that you can do it on multiple Tuesdays
Pausing does not invalidate the achievement, The game had autopaused a few times during my first two hours, but I recommend using a wired controller and rubberbanding a stick to be safe and prevent the console idling.
First, no matter which method you choose, go to Settings > General > Sleep mode & startup and make sure the console is set to never turn off automatically
Online Method:
Start the game up around 11:55pm on Monday to allow yourself plenty of time to load into the game, make sure you are in gameplay when the clock hits midnight and idle the rest. The achievement will pop at Midnight the following day. If you don't wish to leave the game running for an entire day, you can choose to break up the idle across multiple weeks, and do a few hours on one Tuesday, and a few hours on another.
Offline Method:
If your console is set to Home, you can go offline and set the clock to late night Monday to start the idle, but the 24 hours must be idled legitimately, you can't just set the clock forward a day. Once 24 real world hours have passed, open up your console guide, go to settings and reconnect online without closing the game and the achievement should pop shortly after.

Came here to confirm "early" unlock, although I think I did the 24 hours. Essentially, I think it's lenient on when you start the 24 hours so long as it ends ON tuesday.
To play it safe, I rubberbanded/USB'd my controller roughly around 10:35pm last night as I was busy for an hour and didn't want to forget. Had a notification on my phone for that time today (30 mins ago from writing). I didn't stop watch it but it felt pretty close to 24 hours.
So basically, I believe that if you've been playing for 24 consecutive hours finishing on a Tuesday, it'll work - whether it's midnight to midnight, or 6pm Mon to 6pm Tue, or 10pm Mon to 10pm Tue, etc. Suppose testing that theory wouldn't do any harm, as if I'm wrong you would just need to wait it out to midnight anyway - would just be more than 24 hours depending when on Monday you started.

I think the game checks for 3 things
1) The game has been running for 24 hours
2) The game saw the time change from Monday to Tuesday
3) The game saw the time change from Tuesday to Wednesday
My reasoning is because I messed with the system clock a lot while trying to get this achievement, and after the 24 hours it originally didn't pop. I tried making the switch from Tuesday to Wednesday happen a couple of times and I got nothing. I gave up and switched the time to late on Monday night, and when the time rolled over, I got the achievement. So I think the reason I didn't get it originally is I had skipped past the first midnight when I was messing with the clock, and that is one of the conditions it needs to work.
Also, I did it all in Central time, and it popped when the time changed to midnight my time, so I don't think the timezone matters.

The 24 hours on a Tuesday requirement is not consecutive, I found out the hard way. My toddler pressed the power button on my PC the first time I tried this achievement, so I only got about 16 hours in. The next Tuesday I did another 8 hours and the achievement popped. I left the game running minimized on the desktop while I did other things, and it was in the pause menu, so you don't actually have to play if you don't want to.
Getting this trophy is simple:
1. Turn off power savings from the settings.
2. Start the game up around Monday 11:55 PM.
3. When clock strikes around midnight, you gotta wait 24 real hours, though the game can be paused, in case you don't wanna hear music and ambience.
4. Then, at around Wednesday 12:00 AM, the trophy should pop, and you can enable power savings again.
That's all, hope you found this guide helpful.

Note: It is unknown what time zone this is tracked in, but it is believed to be GMT/UTC, so if you live in a different time zone, it is suggested you adjust your playing time accordingly.
To earn this, the game needs to be played or run for a total of 24 hours on a Tuesday. This is cumulative, so you don’t need to leave your console on for 24 hours straight; you can play or run the game for an hour one day, four hours on another, and so on. Even if the game is paused, it still accumulates time. As long as it’s all on a Tuesday, it will count. Unfortunately, there is no tracking for this achievement, so you would need to keep track of your time manually.
If you decide to leave your console on for an extended period of time, make sure you connect your controller with a USB cable and you go into your console settings and in the ‘General’ option, click on ‘Sleep mode & startup’. In the first option, ‘Don’t turn off after’, select ‘Don’t turn off automatically’ from the drop down menu. This will prevent your console from shutting off prematurely while you are idling.
Caution: While you can go offline and change the date so your console is on a Tuesday (if, for instance, it’s Friday), the game still needs to run cumulatively for 24 hours; you cannot fake the time. If you do decide to go this route for part of all of the required time, the achievement will not unlock until your console is back online.

stupid trophy because of which I threw the passage of this game to platinum. You need to turn on the console with the game turned on at 23:55 on Monday of any week and on Wednesday you will get this trophy

You won't be able to get the trophy by manipulating the console's internal time

There are some points that are better to add: disable the automatic switching of the curling iron to sleep mode when inactive, the gamepad is turned on and charging, set the graphics to minimum (optional) and turn off the TV. The trophy is supposed to drop on Wednesday, but I got it at 11:41 pm on Tuesday.

It is not necessary to play 24 hours at a time; the total time of all Tuesdays you played is counted.
