How to unlock the Test Achievement Please Ignore achievement in The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe - Definitive Guide

This achievement is unlocked by finding all 6 of the action figures and then completing the unlocked Epilogue.

To get started with the action figures you need to do the expo hall ending which can be found by doing the following:

1) Complete the freedom ending (do everything that the narrator says.) Once this is done you gain access to the super deluxe content

2) Complete the memory zone ending. Just before you reach the room with the two doors you will find a slightly ajar door with "NEW CONTENT" written on it. Go through this door and again follow everything the narrator says.

This will unlock the expo hall ending which is a fairly linear route. Once you reach the expo hall, first head to the "Free achievement" room and interact with the machine and listen to the narrator's dialogue. From here visit the "Collectibles'' exhibit to collect your first figurine. Once you have picked it up and listened to the narrator head up the stairs towards the Reassurance Bucket. This will restart the game after a short monologue from the narrator.

You are now ready to find the figurines. (you can restart the game each time you pick one up. I recommend not restarting for Figurine 5 + 6 as they are fairly close together)

Figurine 1: Already collected in the expo hall

Figurine 2: Is found in the warehouse - to the left of the lift there will be a plank of wood you can climb leading to a small path made of planks which has the figurine at the end

Figurine 3: Once you reach the stairs to go to the bosses office, instead of heading up, go down and it can be found under the staircase

Figurine 4: Found in the room with the red and blue door which are located after jumping off the warehouse lift onto the catwalk. There is a new door on the right side of the room that will have the figurine in.

Figurine 5: Found in the bosses toilet in the executive bathroom (to the left when you enter the bosses office)

Figure 6: Head to the boss's fireplace and into the room behind it. The figurine can be found round the corner before you use the lift.

After collecting all 6 and starting over the game will start you in Stanley’s office, walking forward through the fist door will start a nostalgia trip of collecting even more figurines

Once you have collected this section an Epilogue option will appear on the main menu (you may need to forcefully restart the game a few times to get it to appear as you have to experience all of the boot up dialogue before it appears.)

I won't spoil the epilogue as it is fairly linear. Once you have finished it head back to the expo hall and into the free achievement room again and this time the machine will work

No matter how many times I reset or quit to the menu the epilogue option never shows up. Looks like I'll have to fully reset my data and do it all again

*edit* my bad I just realised I had to completely close the game multiple times, not just restart from the options

I confirm that you do have to run through all the boot-up dialogue before Epilogue appears on the main menu, which means closing and restarting the game app. Epilogue appears after the final one (when it says goodbye).

Once I got the Sequel Ending (played through New Content twice) I am locked out of the New Content door. It's just room 416. It knows I've done New Content because the decorations and bucket are there, but only door 416. Therefore even though I have epilogue I can't go back to the expo. Any ideas?

Fixed, had to replay Epilogue and tell the guy to actually make Stanley Parable 3

Not sure what I'm missing, I've done the nostalgia trip, I've completed the game multiple times but it still isn't giving me the Epilogue. I've even do various bucket endings.
EDIT: You have to quit the game from the dashboard and go through all the set the time story.

I won't downvote the solution because its helpful overall, but one thingL

"Complete the freedom ending (do everything that the narrator says.) Once this is done you gain access to the super deluxe content"

I don't believe this is correct. I had to do at least a left door and right door ending for Door 416 to become the New Content door, and the Neoseeker guide states the same. I said "yes" to having played The Stanley Parable before because I read that also makes it spawn quicker, but can't confirm. My advise would be to do different left and right door endings and it should show eventually. I am pretty confident it doesn't unlock after just doing the Freedom ending for the first time as described.

Might be worth adding that if you're going for Figurine 4, you can't pick up the bucket as you can't get to Figurine 4 otherwise!

I don't understand, I've done everything in the guide but Door 416 isn't open anymore so I can't get back to the expo

As mentioned in the comment below. The game needs to be completely shut down and re-started a few times, until the new "Epilogue" options appears on the Menu.
Then you just play that part until the achievement machine gets fixed and then you can go claim your prize!

It seems that the choices at the end of the epilogue determine whether the doors to the expo hall will open or not.
Note that even if you choose the wrong option, it does not seem to matter if you play the epilogue again.
I played it twice.

Nope. The game keeps going.

The game does not restart after the monologue. You have to exit the expo hall with the bucket in order to unlock it.

I can confirm you don't have to get the freedom ending to get the new content door. I have yet to get the freedom ending (I'm saving it for last), but I still received access to the new content, and I've already retrieved a few figurines.

Spoiler-free walkthrough:
- Unlock the New Content door (#416) by playing until you get a few endings. This will happen faster if you say you've played the game before.
- After completing the New Content, go back to the same door for the New New Content.
- In the Expo, explore all of the available areas, including trying to use the achievement machine and getting the first figurine. Leave through the exit.
- Back in the main game, get the other five figurines in any order:
#2 In the warehouse, walk up the new small ramp on top of the boxes to the left of the cargo lift. Look down, you'll see a bridge made out of planks. Fall down onto them and walk across to the figurine.
#3 Go down the staircase to the boss' office. The figurine is under the stairs at the bottom.
#4 (Don't take the bucket.) In the warehouse, ride the lift to the catwalk then jump onto it. In the room with the red and blue doors, look to the right of the doors. There is a new door open to a small room with the figurine.
#5 In the boss' office, open the fireplace with the keypad or the narrator. At the end of the hallway, instead of turning left to the elevator, turn right.
#6 At the top of the stairs, before going in the boss' office, turn in the other direction and open the Executive Washroom. The figurine is on top of the toilet.
The meeting room may change its appearance while you're looking for the figurines and they will be listed in the order above. Any you've found will be crossed out.
- After getting all six figurines, reset the game and walk out of Stanley's office. This will trigger a new ending. It's linear; follow it to the end and reset.
- (If necessary) Quit to desktop and restart the game. If you set the clock to any value other than midnight twice in a row, you'll get additional messages. Keep quitting and restarting until you no longer get more messages.
- If all of the above conditions are met, an "Epilogue" option will now be available on the main menu. Choose this and continue through the epilogue until you're in the dark office room with the computer.
- Activate the computer, follow the prompts, and choose "Let's do it" when presented with the option.
- You'll be back in Stanley's office. The New Content door will be available again; follow it back to the Expo. The achievement machine will now work, activate it for the achievement and a flabbergasted response from the Narrator.

This achievement is for flipping a lever in The Stanley Parable 2 Expo Hall which is found behind the ‘NEW New Content’ door, but flipping the lever won’t be as easy as it seems. This achievement will take approximately 2-2.5 hours, depending on your speed and how much you explore.

To get the ‘NEW New Content’ door to appear, you first need to complete the game twice with different endings, 'Games' and 'Confusion'. To see all the endings, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Khonziel.

Once you’ve completed the game with those two endings, door ‘416’, which is in the corridor just before the room with the two doors, changes to the ‘New Content’ door. The door is slightly ajar so step through it, walk down the corridor and step on the conveyor. You will be taken on a ride that briefly introduces the ‘Ultra Deluxe’. Once you can walk freely again, proceed through the linear path to see the new content firsthand. Without spoiling anything, the game will eventually restart itself and you will find yourself back in Stanley’s office…

Upon leaving the room, you will notice that you are not in main office, but in some kind of warehouse. As you are about to walk up the steps, the vent grating on the wall will open and the narrator will try and coax you into crawling into it. To continue, follow the narrator’s instructions and enter the vent, and at the other end, the narrator created a new section called the Memory Zone. This area is basically a visual history of the game, and after walking through the structure while listening to the narrator, you will eventually enter the maintenance basement and emerge around shipping containers. Here, you will see some Steam reviews before continuing. You will finally read a review about adding a skip button, at which point, a building will appear from the water. Inside will be a skip button to skip over the narrator’s dialogue. Keep pressing the button (this section goes on for about 20 minutes or so) until eventually you cannot press it anymore. Leave the building and keep walking until the game restarts itself, thus completing the ‘Memory Zone’ ending.

For a visual walkthough, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Baklava.

Once again, you will begin in Stanley’s office. Walk through the empty offices and before you get to the room with the two doors, you will see that the ‘New Content’ door has changed once again and says ‘NEW New Content’ with a bright neon sign. Walk through the corridor, get on the conveyor and enter the elevator. When the doors open, the narrator will reveal that he has been working on a sequel called The Stanley Parable 2. Walk through the modern office as the narrator babbles about his accomplishments until you reach the ‘New Features Expo Hall’. Feel free to explore all of the exhibits in this new area. One exhibit reads ‘Free New + Easy Achievement’. Finally! Remember what I said above about flipping a lever? Here is where you do it! Follow that corridor and you will see a machine with a lever. Walk up to it and interact with the lever and you will finally unlo-- Whoops! It seems that the lever doesn’t work yet. Fiddlesticks. Maybe we have to continue playing the game and come back to it…

Back in the Expo Hall, to the immediate left of the Achievement exhibit is the Collectibles exhibit. For some ungodly reason, the narrator thinks it is a good idea to introduce collectibles in the sequel, so walk up the steps, into the exhibit, and walk towards the light to collect your first Stanley figurine. There are six of these to find, but there are no more in the Expo Hall. You can continue to explore the rest of the hall or exit the hall by climbing a staircase which is to the left of the Collectibles exhibit. At the top of the stairs is a circular room where the narrator will try to arrange the new features into a coherent video game. At the end of the presentation, the game will restart once again, and you will have completed the ‘Expo Hall’ ending.

For a visual walkthough, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Baklava (note that the Reassurance Bucket is completely optional and you do not have to watch past 18:10 as it is just extra endings not needed for the achievement).

For the next step, you need to collect the five remaining figurines. They are all in various locations in the main office building. Three of them can be collected without restarting the game, but for the other two, you need to restart the game each time.

Here are the locations:

  1. Collected in The Stanley Parable 2 Expo Hall (‘Expo Hall’ ending)
  2. From Stanley’s office, choose the left door (when given the option), walk through the meeting room and when you reach the stairwell to the boss’s office, climb all the way down to find the figurine under the stairs
  3. From #2, climb the stairs to the top and instead of turning right to go to the boss’s office, turn left and open the door to the executive washroom
  4. From #3, enter the boss’s office and use the code ‘2845’ on the keypad. When the fireplace opens, walk towards the elevator and turn completely around to find the figurine in a darkened alcove (restart the game after this one)
  5. Choose the right door (when given the option) and follow the corridor all the way to the warehouse. Step on the platform and allow it to start moving. When it rises up then goes forward, step off the platform to the right to land on a catwalk. Proceed through the linear corridor until to reach a room with red and blue doors. To the immediate right is the figurine (restart the game)
  6. Choose the right door (when given the option and follow the corridor all the way to the warehouse. There is a plank of wood you can step on. Fall off the edge to the left and follow the wood passage to the final figurine
The game will restart once again, and before you reach the second set of offices/cubicles, the game will stop you and the narrator will talk incessantly and obsessively about the figurines. Eventually the wall will open to reveal the Memory Zone area. You are then tasked with recollecting all the figurines in the same order as before as you listen to the narrator guide you to each location. Continue to follow the narrator through nostalgia until you have collected all six. Just when you think it’s over, the narrator will have you collect the figurines for a third time, this time in reverse order.

When you have 18/6 figurines, you will emerge in the Expo Hall, but it will have changed to the first ‘New Content’ area (with the jump circle). Keep following the path until you are back in Stanley’s office. The game will appear to reset and replay the introduction, this time in reverse order, as the narrator goes on and on memories, until the game properly restarts.

For a visual walkthough, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Baklava.

The final piece of this puzzle is to play the Epilogue. When the game restarts after your collectible run, press :1menu: then ‘Quit to Menu’. You will be taken back to the title screen where you will see a new option, ‘Epilogue’. Not spoiling anything, the Epilogue is a pretty straightforward story line (hint: to get out of the cave, follow the cord lying on the ground). Eventually you will enter a bare room with a computer sitting on a desk. Interact with the computer and after about two minutes, the game will return you to the main menu. Select ‘Begin the game’ and make your way to the ‘New Content’ door to return to the Expo Hall. Once there, return to the Test Achievement machine, but this time the lever actually works. Flip it to finally unlock this achievement.

For a visual walkthough, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Baklava (the achievement should unlock around 9:35).

Summary:
- Complete the game twice with different endings to unlock the ‘New Content’ door
- Complete the ‘New Content/Memory Zone’ ending to unlock the ‘NEW New Content’ door
- In the Expo Hall, pull the lever on the Test Achievement machine then collect the first figurine before completing the ‘NEW New Content/Expo Hall’ ending
- Collect the remaining five figurines throughout the office building, restarting the game as necessary and then the game will restart on its own
- Re-explore memories and re-collect figurines until the game naturally restarts
- After it restarts, quit the game to return to the title screen and you will see a new main menu choice, ‘Epilogue’
- Complete the ‘Epilogue’ then the game will naturally restart, so select ‘Begin the Game’ from the main menu
- Head through the ‘New Content’ door to return to the Expo Hall and the lever on the Test Achievement machine will now work
