How to unlock the Homewrecker achievement in The Surge 2 - Definitive Guide

Norm (the barbecue guy you meet at the very beginning) will ask you to bring him hotdogs for his barbecue (buy them in the vending machine in one of the houses) . After that he'll ask you to get him information about what happened on the ship.

mCaPP09 has made a list of three quest items you need:

1. The Black Box you acquire after helping Proto for his side mission
2. Captain’s Luggage (on the lifeboat right near the first shortcut. you will have to walk off the side of the ship onto the lifeboat)
3. Strange Memory Chip (by Turner BEFORE you fight CAIN, go down the stairs there will be a passage to the left)

You find the strange memory chip/crystal in the R&D Room (exo line up from Drive-In to Epicenter, then down an exo lift to the R&D Room).

(Sidney will ask you not to tell her husband. Don't listen to her.)

Edit:

mCaPP09 points in the comments below) that this achievement is missable and has to be done before defeating the final DLC boss. Make sure it's unlocked before you take on CAIN!

It appears this is only missable if you give control to Cain at the end of the DLC. Somehow I managed to complete the entire DLC and leave before realizing I was still missing this achievement, and almost started crying when I read this. But I was able to go back and get everything with no issues.

Somehow Norm tells me to listen to the black box and nothing else. Seems to be buggy? Can anybody help?

You have to go into your inventory and actually listen to the black box recording to progress/finish this side quest.

You will get a audio log after giving him the black box, you must listen to it by pressing LT or going into your inventory. THen return and there will be more dialouge which must be done before. IFF you have defeated Cain like I did, before you hit the decision point, you can back out to main menu and then revert save and you will be back at BBQ

As Pystynen said, this achievement is missable and must be done before completing the DLC.

I posted a solution but deleted it accidentally when editing, now I’m unable to repost it so I’ll just post it here.

Norm is the first person you talk to upon entering the DLC. He’s behind the BBQ grill next to the medbay. Talk to him and he’ll first ask you to bring him hot dogs.

Continue through the DLC and you will eventually come across the ‘CREO Convenience Store’ with a vending machine inside. You won’t be able to access it just yet. Right across the street from the convenience store is a house garage. There will be a dying human behind the car inside. Talk to him to get the Fuse Box Key. Go back across to the convenience store and open the vending machine and buy the hot dogs to give to Norm.

Talking to Norm after giving him the hot dogs, he’ll now want to know what happened with the ship. You now need to acquire 3 things.

1. The Black Box you acquire after helping Proto for his side mission
2. Captain’s Luggage (on the lifeboat right near the first shortcut. you will have to walk off the side of the ship onto the lifeboat)
3. Strange Memory Chip (by Turner BEFORE you fight CAIN, go down the stairs there will be a passage to the left)

After acquiring all these, go back to Norm IMMEDIATELY and give him the items. Listen to all the audio files he will give you & then you can give him the memory crystal. Achievement should pop then.

You'll need to get a key from a man hiding in a garage across the street from the store to power up the machine first.

Next, he asks that you find out the truth about what's happening on the ship. You can find the captain on a lifeboat off the side of the ship and present that as evidence, but it's not enough. What you really need is a memory crystal found in the R&D section underneath where Cain hangs in the sky. Complete the Drive-In story event and use the zipline up to Sydney, then go to the right of where she is standing and down a lift to find a red collectible (see the video below for this location). Return to norm with this to complete the quest.
